Out of all the the interesting title choices we had as a group:This stood out! But, why? Well, of course, aside from being "Science Congress worthy"; it is extremely useful. This project may LITERALLY save lives. Cancer is a common life threatening disease, and until now-- one can find THE CURE. My group and I want to help the medical researchers gain progress in their medical development. We have FAITH that not only is this IP interesting, but it is very useful to people as well. I'd personally want to find a cure to treat my grandma's cancer, and I'm sure that the other members as well want to find a way to heal someone. That's why we chose this topic, and we will make sure that we don't regret such a choice.

I know that I have a great set of group mates, and thankfully we are all cooperating well with one another. We dedicate time doing our tasks, and make sure to finish it before concentrating on other materials. However, I guess I can say that our IP is very time-consuming--I'm not saying that is impossible to do work. Yesterday (Monday), we spent our entire recess and almost the whole lunch in the laboratory fixing our experimental set-ups. I gotta say I was really HUNGRY. I feel bad for my other group mate that had an interview for a committee that lunch, as she was not able to EAT AT ALL. I guess it's too early to legitimately complain, as we know that our IP needs little sacrifices. Another problem is that our IP cost is pretty expensive, eight thousand pesos for lab trials. At first we doubted if it was truly worth it, but I guess IT IS. The ONLY drugs that may possibly cure it are DANGEROUS as they usually come with numerous side effects. These drugs are also made up of mostly chemicals, making it bad for the body. That's why making a natural alternative to this medicine would be AMAZING. There will also be NO SIDE EFFECTS, as Santan extract components have the ability to decipher between healthy and malignant cells. Santan flower is very common in the Philippines, and if this becomes successful the entire Philippine economy may also get a BOOST. Filipinos may get cured, without radiation therapy and other expensive procedures and will be able to live LONGER LIVES.
