Have you ever been in the situation where you are sprayed by a skunk and don't know how to get the smell out of your clothes? It is commonly thought that tomato juice will get it out. Is this true? Is tomato juice the answer to removing skunk stinch? In this experiment five different treatments were compared to a control. The treatments included a hydrogen peroxide/baking soda/liquid soap/water mix, tomato juice, bleach/agricultural lime/water mix, laundry detergent/water mix, and a commercially available skunk spray remover. Commercial skunk spray was applied to 11 individual 5x5 cotton t-shirt swatches and allowed to sit for 1 minute. After 1 minute, two swatches were randomly placed into each of the 5-gallon buckets containing one of the treatments. The remaining swatch served as the control. Swatches remained in the treatment buckets for 5 minutes before being removed and dried with a hand-held hair dryer. The swatches were then sniffed and scored by 4 blinded individuals on a scale ranging from 0-10 where 0 indicated no skunk smell was detected and 10 indicated a strong skunk smell remained. The results showed that the bleach/agricultural lime/water mix was the most effective treatment for removing skunk smell from clothing with an average score of 0.125. This treatment also had the least amount of variation. In conclusion, tomato juice makes a better drink than a skunk smell remover.

In my picture my brother and I are hugging while taking photos to raise money for Bibles. My brother was 4 years old and I was 3. I was wearing a brown and pink checkered dress and Tanner was wearing a brown sweater with deer on it. We were living in 5-points at the time in a small house.

In the other picture Rita Blumstien was hugging her friend. Rita, on the right, is wearing a bow with a dress and the friend on the left is wearing a jumper. They look about the ages of 4 and 4 they are in front of a little line of trees that is like a privacy tree line but the picture was taken in Krakau Cracow (Poland) in 1939.

A common theme between the two photos is that childhood is fun because children do not think of grown up things.

Cucumber beetles Cucumber beetles are harmful to your garden. How? They feed on your leaves and stunt growth to your plants. How you can get rid of them is by using wood ashes or you can put row covers on them, but you will have to take them off for a while each day for pollination. Soapy water works if you get the beetles and drop them into a bucket of water. An easier way is to just get rid of the plants . Their scientific name is Diabrotica undecimpunctata. Chickens, wolf spider and ladybugs kill cucumber beetles. Ladybugs only eat the eggs, but chickens do kill them. Plant can keep them away. Here are a few that can: onions, basil, garlic ,tomatoes ,and catnip. They come from Canada or Mexico. They can be striped, spotted or have no pattern. They can carry diseases. They are like a tick. It's not the bite that hurts you; it's the diseases that they transfer into you. You can also get gloves and coat them in petroleum jelly because they are very hard to hand pick. It would just be easier to do because it helps them stick to the gloves to where they come off of your plants easier. Cucumber beetles don't like to eat off most things. The main things they eat are cucumber, squash, melons, and pumpkins. They do eat other stuff. These are just the main ones.
