Cell Theory- All biological organisms are composed of cells; cells are the unit of life and all life comes from preexisting life.
Nucleus- The structure in a cell that contains the chromosomes
Eukroyete- Any cell or organism that possesses a clearly defined nucleus.
Prokaryote- A single-celled organism belonging to the domains of Bacteria and Archaea
Organelle- A small structure in a cell that is surrounded by a membrane and has a specific function.
Cytoplasm- The fluid inside a cell but outside the cell's nucleus.
Ribosome-An intercellular structure made of both RNA and protein and it is the site of protein synthesis in the cell
Lysosome- A sac-like compartment inside a cell that has enzymes that can break down cellular components that need to be destroyed.
Mitochondria- Small structures in a cell that are found in the cytoplasm (fluid that surrounds the cell nucleus).
