Initiate:
Research into building code - documents available online.
Research construction regulations as well as materials for comparison. Determined methods to be used and the materials. 
Set the parameters for the job based on height and area to be covered.
Draft a layout plan.
Calculate how many supports for the structure and the roofing methods.
Pricing of materials.
Pricing equipment.
Pricing labor.
Determine best time of the year to do this based on weather history.
Take leave from work to be available to do the work.


Planning:
1. The new deck covered area must be no more that 20 square meters, no more that 1 meter off the ground and not attached to the existing building to avoid the need for Counsel Consent. 
2. All construction was to meet current building regulations methods.
3. Bill of materials
4. Ordered materials and supplies: Roof sheets, Piles, decking, battens, fasteners, nails, screws, concrete, spouting.
5. Hiring of tools such as boring tools.
6. Contracted the labor and arranged schedule of payment.
7. Bought tools needed.
8  Layout of new house piles and bored set in place, leveled square and laid the concrete.
9. Framing of deck and roof support.
10. laid decking complete
11. Laid roofing
12. installed spouting
13. Clean up area 

Project monitoring:
Monitoring on cost and quality and availability of labor and equipment.
Essentially this meant splitting the project into 3 sections, to be completed in 3 steps as the cost was controlled to make used of seasonal supplier pricing specials.

Closure:
On completion, labor was paid, rental equipment returned. The waste materials were recycled and disposed of in the correct manner.
