One quote that I found interesting was "We had the land and they had the bible now " because it showed how much power religion played because if you didn't agree or believe in the same religion you wouldn't be apart of the imperialists and you would be excluded. Yes, this quote did change my belief of imperialism because I initially thought imperialism simply meant that bigger nations took over smaller nations. Now i understand that imperialism is more in depth with how imperialism was about death and trading people to gain "resources" and land now.

"When the Whites" this quote did not change my opinion about imperialism. The reason on why is imperialism is when leaders take over other places. My original thought about imperialism was that it was a bad thing. And in this quote it talks about how the blacks lost their land and in return they got a bible. And my opinion about imperialism is still have stayed the same.

"When the whites came to our country..." I found this quote interesting because I feel like imperialism is a lot of violence and sacrifices but in this quote there is no violence. In this quote there is a sacrifice made, the natives traded their land over a religion that the white people brought to their land. The whites told them they were giving them the Bible and they took their land. In my personal opinion this is very interesting because like I said, there is mostly violence in imperialism, but in this scenario there is no violence, they are just trading one thing for another. Maybe the white people were tricking them and instead of trading they were just making them think that they were there to share their religion and instead they took their land.

"The path of progress..." This quote was interesting and intensified my opinion on imperialism. What I understood from this quote was that the imperialists thought it was necessary to kill people in order to reach prosperity and make big progress. I believe imperialism is bad, it shows selfishness, greediness, and no empathy for people. The fact that they thought killing people was okay because it was for a good cause, even though it wasn't even a good cause makes me become more against imperialism. This quote showed that the imperialists didn't see the people who died as human beings, or people with families, they saw them as a stepping stone towards a "better" society.

One quote I found interesting was "We feel now that..." This quote kind of changed my thinking about imperialism because maybe not all imperialists were imperializing people for the worse. Some imperialists might have had plans to better the future of others. Before I was completely against imperialism and thought that all imperialists had bad intentions but now I think that there are powerful countries who want to unite and help the smaller countries who are struggling. I believe that imperialism is okay as long as the imperialist have pure intentions and are helping the people in need.

This quote interested me because this quote shows the cockyness of English men believing as if they were the finest race in existence and it would be better if they inhabited parts with people of different color or race thinking they were helping but they were harming. I feel as if this quote has intensified my belief of imperialism by a bit. For me, Imperialism means the belief or idea of one or many with the belief of high or a higher power or influence over others in a large or smaller group in society through force whether it's in a good or ill intent.

1 quote I found interesting was "You cannot have omelettes without breaking eggs". The reason is because all sorts of people have to make different sacrifices in order to go forward in life. In this case we're talking about imperialists, they can't have the land unless they kill the natives in it. Us learners read how violent things had to get and how desperate nations were in order to get more land and gain more power which is understandable but they were the ones that are causing harm an problems by taking over territory that isn't theirs which is wrong.

This quote intensifies my beliefs in imperialism because if you ask me imperialism is a excuses people make to make murder sound not as bad as it is and to not be looked down upon. these imperialistic people think that when they are conquering a country or a place the only way to do it is by killing the native/people that already live their. imperialist would as so kill anyone that got in their way if you did not agree with them your head was the next one on the chopping block. This intensified my belief on imperialism because the Europeans were taking over the Africans home. This quote intensified my belief of imperialism being negative because the poem shows how White man had power over the Africans and they abused that power by killing and treating the Africans badly. “The path of progress…” this quote changed my belief of imperialism because this shows some things about the white mens being merciless to the Africans due to the white men not wanting them to go on in life and not be free. This is saying that they kill the Africans that are not working or tried to talk back to the white men which made this be a slaughter when the Africans don’t follow the rules and made this bring out fear to the Africans. The Africans sees dead bodies everywhere around the home they were forced to stay in when the white mens did slavery due to some of them not following the rules and who tried to leave and go somewhere else besides there. Even though some Africans manages to escape that slavery and go somewhere else, this still bring them emotional about having to leave some of their loved ones behind and regretting some parts in their life.

It then says how those events were necessary in order for humanity to thrive.
