She states that it is important to build relationships with the families and to not just try to get them to sign up but to show the benefits of a library. She helped by getting rid of fines to those of a deprived family, to encourage them to still come along. Encouraging those of different cultures and ethnicities to be involved with reading and referring them to other services if necessary. Encouraging language from those children with speech and language delay by reading to them. She brought in props for their exploration. We have had the fire brigade come visit. We have had a student on work experience come in. We also have extra activities such as super star sport, dinky dancers and melody monkeys. Also had a children's centre come in and run activities for the children. We have taken them on nature walks where they have explored the community.
