Week 1

In the first week of my field study, I feel nervous and excited at the same time. Observing a final demo of a practice teacher, I saw different strategies and how they can manage the class. Their class is fruitful, and I got insights on how a pre-service teacher should conduct their classes.

Week 2

We had our first team teaching. We were so nervous, but thankfully we had a successful one. It is the first time we handled grade 3, and it is nerve-wracking because they are so active and we are having a hard time speaking English. We truly agree that we need to practice more when speaking English, and we will do our best to improve it.

Week 3

In week 4, we had our enhancement meeting. It is my first time to have storytelling virtually, and I had a hard time learning how to be interactive. We had different activities that we planned, and the kids really enjoyed them. But the challenging part is our last activity because we did not handle it well, the children did not like it much, and we learned from it. We will be more careful with the instructions for the activity.

Week 4

This week, I feel disappointed and happy somehow because there are times that we do not know what to do, but thankfully, with the guidance of Prof. Arbee, we go back to our pace. I learned that an educator should learn how to think fast and will never lose an activity. We should also have authority so that the children will listen to us. Such an amazing and fruitful week!

Week 5

This week is our last team teaching; we had our first team teaching. I realized many things about handling face-to-face classes. I enjoyed our activity a lot because the kids liked it and they enjoyed it very much. I experienced my first family day as a pre-service teacher, and it was exhausting and enjoyable. There are many things to do.

Week 6

The week has come, and it will be our final demo. It is my first time teaching individually face-to-face. I have stage fright, but thankfully, I've done it successfully. Based on my self-evaluation, I improved a lot in terms of standing in front. I want to establish my modulated voice and learn how to be more engaging in terms of discussion. Also, I am still working hard on my grammar, and I am still having a hard time speaking fluently. It is a good experience that gives me achievement for myself.

Week 7

We experienced various activities this week. The children have Sangandiwa, which showcases their creativity and teamwork with each other. Also, we had the opportunity to escort the kids for boys scouts during Independence Day. Finally, we had to make the exams and the TOS, which are challenging for us.

Week 8

Last week of face-to-face classes for the students and also their examination week. This week, we practiced TOS and examinations for grade 3 students. At first, we had a hard time doing the TOS because we got puzzled about the computation. Fortunately, we had a quick pace on how to do it. We did different types of tests, and it was challenging to apply the TOS. It's so hard to be a teacher, but it is fulfilling when we saw the scores of our students.

Week 9

I realized one thing while encoding the grades of the students: It's hard to be a teacher. You need to reach out all over again to the students who are incomplete. I don't want to give a zero because I will be guilty if I do that. For how many weeks did we always remind them to pass their requirements? They passed it on the last day of passing the grades.

Week 10

Upon doing our CBAR, we had our title up until the conceptual framework. It is about classroom management in terms of following rules. But it got rejected because it's too old and we need to think of something new. We're having a hard time deciding what strategy we can use.

Week 11

Last week of our face-to-face, for our last week, we learned how to prepare an event, just like a Baccalaureate for Grade. 6 and 10. It is such a fun and stressful experience because the events in ITL are jam-packed, so we need to do all the events on that day. I am glad that we experienced watching a baccalaureate because I had not done it before. It is a fun, productive, and tiring day.
