Volunteer Motivation: As an international student in the United States, my personal experience helps me realize how difficult it is to adapt to a new environment especially for those coming from a non-western background. Fortunately, over my last four years, many lovely people really create a second home for me in the US, and grateful for their regards, I decide to give back to the community that once offered me help. //  作为一个留学生，我自己就经历了从一开始的格格不入到现在的如鱼得水。的确，适应一个新的环境充满着挑战。我也很幸运，从我第一天踏入这个陌生的国度的时候，就有不少的人在帮我适应，他们就像我在异国他乡的家人一样，陪我度过刚开始最艰难的每一天，给我带来快乐，也帮助我摆脱了焦虑。没有他们，也就没有我的今天。所以我希望我也能回报一下这个帮助我的社会。

Fun fact: I lived in Birmingham in the UK from when I was 12 to 16 with my family. Unfortunately, I don’t have British accents and speak American English!

Volunteer Motivation: I wanted to join Torus because the organization stands for an inclusive and diverse community through language and cultural exchange, as an immigrant, this is comforting, and also because I am able to assist the Latinx community.  // Yo decidí hacerme voluntaria de Torus porque es una organización que apoya a una comunidad mas exclusiva y diversa a través del intercambio de lenguajes y cultura, y como inmigrante, estos espacios cuentan mucho, así como también porque es una oportunidad para mí para poder ayudar a la comunidad Latina.

Role: My current role at Torus is to facilitate the Spanish meetups along with other colleagues, as well as to provide information about services, resources, translation, and ESL classes for Spanish speakers that reach us. Volunteer motivation: Coming to the United States and experiencing the challenging language barriers in my educational institution woke up a passion for education and language mentoring. //venir a los Estados Unidos y experimentar las desafiantes barreras del idioma en mi institución educativa despertó la pasión por la educación de languages. // アメリカに来て、大学での難しい言葉の壁を経験したことで、教育と言語への情熱を見つけました。
