Some similarities between "The Lottery" and "The Hunger Games" are that they are both very angry with society at that moment. When Tessie found out that she "won" the lottery, she was very mad and she said it wasn't fair at all. When Katniss found out that her sister, Prim, was picked to go into the area and basically fight everyone to death, Katniss threw herself forward and screamed. She obviously didn't think this was fair just like Tessie didn't think it was fair.
