This writing somewhat foreshadows just how crucial Beckhams marketing appeal became. His looks and celebrity status brought more than just football fans, but an entire audience of people who want to consume the Beckham brand.

 In response to Beckhams transfer to L.A Galaxy, The writer goes onto say: "The combination of Beckhams persona, English, tall, lean, good looking, with glittering athletic skills, and a celebrity wife, Victoria "posh" spice Beckham, was tailor made for Hollywood... ply his looks and commercial skills in the worlds most lucrative market place - Hollywood" The writer infers Beckham was destined for the glamourous, Hollywood lifestyle, further implying his transfer L.A Galaxy was made out of his search for stardom, not nessesarilly football related. This piece of work expands on this.

The transfer came off the back, as the writer puts it, 'Beckhams fall from grace' at Real Madrid where he  consequently 'eroded his commercial appeal' and 'lost  several lucrative endorsement contracts'.  This further demonstrates Beckhams search for stardom, especially at a time where he he seemed forgotten
