I didn't vote for SPP because they represented the middle-class and the English-Speaking professionals who were born in Singapore. At that time, people already did not trust the British as they felt that the British had neglected them and did not help them during the war when they needed help. It was also no help to the general population as during post war, many of the citizens were poor and needed more help then the other more well-off citizens. Furthermore, the other parties had better aims than SPP to help the other poorer citizens who were in desperate need of food, housing etc.

I did not vote for SPP as they are Pro British and at that time, the people had lost their trust in the British. And they wanted to gradually change the government, while people did not like the British and most people wanted change immediately. SPP also did not see the need to win the support of the China-born Chinese immigrants even though they formed half of the adults in Singapore at that time.

I did not choose SPP because this organisation believes in working with British colonial government and wanted to introduce changes gradually. At that point of time,locals already felt that those British treats people who are non-eurasian unfairly as they get a much lower income than those Eurasians despite having the same job and with more experiences.

I didnt vote for SPP Cos not many people voted for them. I follow the majority cos human beings are lidat because itzlidat. Soemwhere in the internet states that human beings will always follow the majority ;) And it's a true fact.For example If u see a a lonely guy, they will always try to fit in the majority of the people/crowd as they do not want to be left out. I didn't vote for SPP as they were mainly made out of English educated professionals and businessmen and not locals, meaning that they lack trust from the locals in SG. SPP also did not have many big plans for SG as they never did set a plan for the British to hand over their power, making SG not independent.

I didn't vote for the Singapore Progressive Party as:
-Were Pro-British.
-Sought to represent the interests of the English-speaking professionals and the middle class that were born in S'pore.
-DID NOT see the need to win the support of the Chinese-born Chinese immigrants although they formed half of the adult population in S'pore. This implies that they did not want to promote equality towards all races even though they were a multi-racial party.

I did not vote for SPP as getting independence gradually might take too long and they only sought to represent the middle-class and English speaking professionals and not the poorer locals and China-born immigrants who live here, work for our businessmen and form half of the adult population in Singapore. If they got voted, the immigrants may be unhappy and there could be civil war or riots.

I did not vote for SPP because they did not consider the votes of China- born Chinese immigrants even though they made up most of the population in Singapore back then and they were pro- British so they liked the British but the locals did not trust them so they might not win the majority of the votes.

I did not vote for SPP as they only wanted independence for the country. I feel that before we actually achieve independence, the SPP should focus on how to make the lifestyle of the locals in Singapore to be better and have enough supply of food and enough pay to sustain themselves for their daily life.They were also pro-British and the British somehow neglected the local's needs and thus the locals would not agree with SPP as they were siding the British.
