I have chosen this photo because it is truly exceptional to think that this photograph was taken from nature. The polar bears stand out as they are white among the array of darker colours. The rocks in the background look like some sort of colourful geometric pattern and the water directly reflects the polar bear's image. The rocks have very sharp edges and are also very defined, which we can see through this image. This picture is actually so beautiful!!

I have chosen this photo as my favourite photo of Paul Nicklen because I love how the photo it taken. The water reflecting the iceberg is my favourite part and how the sky looks grey (dark) as well as the reflection. The iceberg stands out the most as that is what the photo is meant to be capturing as it is presented right in the middle and is huge. I love how clear the photo is and how you can see many small details in the photo. You can also see mountains behind the massive iceberg. Ice, snow and other ice themed features of nature are my favourite part of nature and have always been. This photo gives a good representation of ice related themes as when looking at it you can instantly tell it was taken in a cold place. I really like how the photo is very simplistic and there isn't too much going on as I am a fan of simplistic photos as I think they are very pleasing to ones eye. Overall, this is a wonderful photo and relaxes my mind while looking at it which is why I love this photo.

My favourite part of the photograph are the splashes of water because they look really intriguing to me. I also like how there is a sense that the penguin is flying through the air.

I have chose this photo by Paul Nicklen because I love the angle that this was shot from and the colours blend together seamlessly to create a very beautiful image. It also showcases the penguin and how majestic it looks in this cinematic image while swimming towards the surface surrounded by ice. The light hitting the ocean surface brightens up the picture, despite most colours being dark and the bubbles trailing behind the penguin are another highlight for me.

The sunset if very colourful with a mixture of purple, orange, pink and blue. You can also see icebergs in the background. Overall I really like this picture and think that it is quite magnificent!

I chose this photograph by Paul Nicklen because I think it is very rare. Narwhales are such a mythical animal with a distinctive feature that makes us humans say 'wow'. I also believe this photo is not only beautiful, but also meaningful. It communicates the message to me that these creatures will soon disappear if all the sea ice melts and leaves them with no choice but extinction.

Although this photo was taken by coincidence, I still highly admire the composition and photography techniques. The whales are in the centre and form a star shape with their mermaid-like tails and unicorn horns. The colour scheme is lovely as well.

Overall, I think this photo has its share of flare, but also an evocative message to send to the world.

It shows how small the diver is and it almost makes humans seem unimportant. The photo is really nice to look at and is nice to think and wonder about how it may have felt to be that close to such a wonderful creature!

With its subdued colours, picturesque terrain, and skeletal subject, the photograph manages to be both terrifying and beautiful at the same time. It makes me appreciate the fragility of ecosystems, and the plight of animals living in the Arctic and Antarctic. Not only this, but t makes me want to do whatever I can to help them.

I chose this as my favourite work from Paul Nickerson because It is quite a unique angle and photograph compared to most other photographs from other photographers. I feel that the image also captures the violence and aggressiveness of the animal but if you know the full story of the photo, you’ll know that actually these creatures are almost friendly and generous. Overall, this photo is truly stunning, the detail is incredible and the angle and what is shown is absolutely beautiful!
