I chose this event because it was a leading cause towards the reconstruction and the civil war. The fugitive slave act a very key event toward slavery and the civil war. The compromise sought to end sectional tensions plaguing the country but failed due to unsatisfying the north.

I chose this event because it was a debate whether to keep slavery in sovereignty states as slave states or to abolish it all together. The South's defeat in the war made the Reconstruction necessary to reunite the country and establish the rights of newly freed African Americans.

I chose this event because of the impact it had on the civil war. The Pottawatomie Massacre was like a starting point for the civil war because groups of abolitionists which were led by John Brown killed 5 pro-slavery men in Kansas. This was one of the many starting points of the civil war.

I chose this event because it is a key attribute to reconstruction. The Dred Scott decision was a key attribute to the reconstruction because it was a landmark decision held by the supreme court that whether black people whether enslaved or free should have rights that every white person has to respect or not. This is Vidal to the reconstruction because America had to reconstruct itself from that very problem.

I choose this event because it was one of the shapes that shaped the reason for the civil war. John Brown's raid on Harper's ferry was a very supporting event toward slaves since it shined light on abolitionists and black codes.

I choose this event because it was one of the key events that America had to get rid of to make the reconstruction successful. The Missouri Compromise made a Vidal piece of history for the reconstruction and the civil war due to making southern states slave states which is something that America had to get rid of to recover from slavery.

I choose this event Because it is was on of the first events that were anti-slavery and one of the many beginnings for the reconstruction and civil war. Nat Turner as a former slave was able to convince people to join his revolt and be anti-slavery which was really difficult especially as a black man.
