Classroom management is the teacher's effort to establish and maintain his/her classroom as an effective and safe environment for teaching and learning for all students. What classroom management looks like in an early childhood classroom is to make sure all students learn to keep their own bodies, as well as their peers' bodies, safe while they are learning. If they do not learn to respect their peers' bodies then it may cause a conflict between students. What classroom management sounds like in an early childhood classroom is the ability for children to problem solve when a conflict occurs. Especially during a child's preschool years, they need modeling and guidance because they may not be able to find a solution on their own. Children are open to use solution cards to solve any type of problem or conflict if they are present in the classroom. They can also choose to use their soft voices to tell the other student how they feel about the problem and then come up with a solution during the situation, if they do not choose to use the solution cards.

Classroom management is the invaluable skill of keeping a class under control through means of establishing rules, respect, and habits. In an early childhood or elementary classroom, it should never be harsh but it should also be consistent and based on high standards. If proper classroom management tactics are in place, a classroom should be orderly and at an appropriate speaking level. There should be mutual respect between students and teachers as well as respect for one another. It should sound calm, and the teacher should never have to raise their voice (at least on a regular basis). As mentioned, kids should be speaking at a reasonable volume and kindness amongst each other should be heard.

Classroom management is the way a teacher holds a class to their expectations and gets them back on track to meeting expectations when they may stray away from what has been expected. In an elementary classroom this looks like a list of general classroom expectations told and displayed to students in their classroom for them all to see. It can also include a reward system or a goal the class is working towards. The classroom can also have a consequence flowchart displayed for when the expectations are not followed. All good classroom management plans must include modeling by the teacher. It can involve a teacher saying, "Class what were my expectations? Let's try that again" when the class is not meeting expectations. It can also be the teacher giving positive verbal reinforcement to students who are following expectations exactly so that other students can see a role model.

Classroom management is a plan that includes a “contract” between teachers and students detailing procedures that allow the teacher to protect the students’ right to learn new things in an optimum learning environment and have a great time at school without problems. Effective classroom management in a school setting can look many different ways. First, a well-managed classroom should have the class expectations as well as consequences for not following those expectations in an area where students can see them clearly and frequently. The classroom should also look calm and orderly, with the students doing what the teacher has instructed of them and not bothering or messing with other students. As for how classroom management should sound, there should be an appropriate voice level for what the activity is because some activities, like group work, require a higher voice level than something such as independent reading. In addtition, you should hear students speaking to each other respectfully and having pleasant and on-task discussions. Lastly, for both how classroom management should look and sound, the teacher must also be acting and speaking in a manner that represents the class expectations.

Classroom management is a set of rules, consequences, expectations, and procedures intended to create an optimal learning environment where students can focus on learning and teachers can focus on teaching. In any classroom, these should be things that are established as early as possible and are reiterated as often as deemed necessary. It could also be helpful for these rules or expectations to be on display in the classroom so there is always an opportunity for students to review and be aware of them. It should also be based on the premise of establishing mutual respect both between students and teachers and between students and other students. It is very important that whatever rules and consequences established are followed through with and are used consistently.

Classroom management is a process in which a teacher uses in order to ensure their classroom is running smoothly. It involves a set of rules/expectations, consequences, and routines to help create a well organized classroom. Classroom management looks and sounds different depending on the grade level. For example, classroom management may look different in an early childhood or elementary classroom than in a high school classroom. In an early childhood or elementary classroom, classroom management would have the teacher give rules or set expectations to help the children respect their surroundings as well as their peers. Also, they would be constantly and consistently modeling or reminding them of those classroom rules. A well managed early childhood classroom would have a calm, positive sound to it. The rules and expectations in the classroom for children at this age should be made to allow them to better understand what it means to respect the things around them and how to actually respect things and respect their peers. It helps create a less chaotic, respectful environment. When managing a classroom in an early childhood setting, teachers should constantly and consistently be modeling as well as reminding the children of what is expected of them in the classroom. Children need to be constantly told and shown exactly what is expected of them because if they do not know, then they will do what ever they think is right to them. The teacher needs to consistently follow through with their expectations so the students know exactly what to do and they actually follow them. It is also important that a teacher in a well managed classroom exudes a positive, calm energy towards the students. It not only creates a mutual respect between students and teacher, but students will respond better to it. Children do not respond well to ridicule and shouting, instead they respond when the teacher has calm tone. It creates a positive, calm classroom where students follow the rules and expectations of the classroom and effectively show them in a calm, orderly manner.

Classroom management is how a teacher chooses to stricture their classroom. Classroom management involves establishing expectation, rules, routines, and anything else that effects a classroom. Classroom management in an elementary classroom starts off by establishing the room as a safe space for students. No classroom will run smoothly if the students do not understand that the class is a safe learning environment. A part of this is the teacher having a connection with students. From there the teacher establishes rules and why they are important. Students need to understand the why about the rules. From there classroom management involves following through on the rules and what happens if they are broken. Having a productive classroom is extremely important as a teacher.

Classroom management is a crucial aspect of any classroom, especially in early childhood and elementary classrooms. Classroom management is the way a teacher organizes the many aspects of their classroom to make it a safe, positive, and controlled learning environment for the students. What classroom managements looks and sounds like should vary depending on the needs of students in the class and will probably change from year to year. Regardless of what the needs are, classroom management should involve the students' understanding of what is expected of them and the teacher and what the consequences are if those expectations are not met. Classroom management should look and sound like respect, care, and the best interest for everyone in the class, including the teacher. My ultimate goal as a future educator is to make a difference in the lives of students and provide them with a safe, respectful, and positive learning experience, and I know I will need classroom management to succeed at this.

Classroom management includes the procedures, rules, and expectations that a teacher holds in his/her classroom in order to create the best possible teaching and learning environment. Classroom management looks very organized in an elementary school classroom. Often times the teacher will have rules and expectations posted around the classroom. The classrooms procedures will be very organized and will look the same every day. The teacher will not stray from these rules and expectations to ensure that the students know what is expected of them and that there will be consequences otherwise. Classroom management will sound like a teacher voicing and reinforcing her students. For example, if a student is not following a classroom rule, the teacher may stop and redirect the student with what they are expected to be doing. Classroom management should be consistent and a teacher should always follow through with their rules and expectations in order to ensure that his/her students are in a safe positive learning environment.

Classroom management is how a teacher controls the students in the classroom. It involves rules and expectations for the students that they are to follow, and if they do not follow these rules and expectations then there will be consequences. It is important that a teacher sets his/her classroom management right away on the first day of school. The students should know exactly what is expected of them, what they can and cannot do, and what will happen if they do not follow the rules. In an early childhood elementary classroom, classroom management looks like all students sitting properly at their desk, walking around the room safely, standing in a straight line, keeping their hands to themselves, and looking at the teacher while he/she is talking. These rules can be in a list on a poster around the room for the students to constantly be reminded of, or the teacher will remind the students when the rules are not being followed. Classroom management sounds quiet when the students are learning, talking at a low level with classmates, and keeping a calm tone. There are times when it is acceptable to be loud and the teacher will tell the student when those times are, such as recess. Overall, classroom management is to be set right away in order to keep the students from going crazy and getting away with unacceptable behavior.

Classroom management is one of the most important pieces in a classroom. It will determine whether your class will sink or float throughout the year. Classroom management is a set of rules and expectations that the classroom follows; whether it be only teacher created or whole class creation. I think the most important thing is that when the rules are set everyone follows them, and as a teacher follow up on your consequences set. In an elementary classroom classroom management is normal rules such as; stay in line, treat others how you want to be treated, quiet in the hallways, etc. Normally in an elementary classroom the rules are set somewhere in the classroom so if the teacher notices students not following a rule you can go back and talk about it as a class. Some teachers have this conversation a hundred times a year with their students just so they can practice accountability and consistency with the rules.

Organization is key to keeping a classroom structured. Classroom management looks to have an orderly fashion. The students should look focused and attentive when the teacher is teaching. The students should seem to be on task and productive during class time. I think that in an early childhood or elementary classroom should sound calm and quiet. If classroom management isn't there the classroom would be loud and not on task. Rules and expectations should be in order and the students should be well aware of them. Another important point to classroom management is to help the class be a safe area to learn in.

Classroom management is using some skills or strategies to arrange the whole classroom in order to provide a safe learning environment to students. In an early childhood or elementary classroom, classroom management looks like that teachers give some rules or direction to students, so students can follow them to finish their work effectively. Teachers’ behaviors effect students, so teachers also will manage their behaviors to give students positive influences.

Classroom Management is the skill and techniques that teachers use to keep their classroom in order. I do not think that this is necessarily directly related to organization because their are classrooms that are the perfect blend of managed and chaos. In an early childhood classroom, I think classroom management would sound very meta but not completely quiet. I feel like a classroom that is being managed correctly has a bit of noise. I think that all of the children will be able to hear the teacher and other students at all times in the classroom if it is properly managed. The teacher will never have to raise her voice and will never have to keep repeating what she is saying to the students because they will always hear her. They will be able to follow basic rules because the teacher has been consistent with consequences and rewards when ruled are followed and broken. She will also be able to leave the classroom in the hands of someone else and come back to her class with good reports because the children know what to expect. They will not be afraid of her, but everyone in the class will respect each other.

Classroom management is the way that a teacher manages rules and expectations in their classroom. This can include strategies for the students that allows them to understand how their classroom works. Teachers incorporate techniques that contribute to an effective learning atmosphere. Without proper classroom management, chaos can ensue, students are unaware of their teachers expectations, and the classroom can be disorganized. Simple classroom management techniques can be as simple as effective classroom transitions. Verbally demonstrate how students should quietly move around the room. For an elementary classroom, teachers should explain how students should keep their hands to themselves, to raise their hands if they have a comment or question and not shout out, to stay in line when walking outside the classroom, etc. The teacher should model good behavior in the classroom, as well. If you want your students to behave properly, then teachers need to outline that expectation and demonstrate it.

An example of what classroom management may look like in an elementary school classroom would be a teacher setting clear expectations for the classroom.

Classroom Management to me are creative techniques and skills used by teacher around his or her classroom. This also shows how organized the teacher is in her own way, a system that students are familiar with. Organized does not mean everything in order, in Early Childhood classroom it would be difficult to keep this organized at all time. I think the more mess in the classroom, the more creative learning is happening. This management skills would also include a process or a way that students listen to her when she needs their attention. It would not include her speaking in the loud voice or repeating things over and over again. It is a system that both students and teacher build together and work with each other to keep that system strong. If classroom management is missing in the classroom it would be really difficult for teachers to get students in control and ask them to follow direction. These kids are young, and they need clear instruction of what needs to be done but they can choose their own way of learning and using creativity around the classroom. These skills would help teacher keep her students safe in the classroom, having a say if something is going wrong and being able to talk to them in a way that would be positively influenced on the students in changing their behavior. These skills are not mastered in one day, they need time and patience which will lead to a great classroom that is managed in a proper manner.

Classroom management is just as important as the curriculum, especially in an early childhood or elementary classroom. In basic terms, classroom management how teachers develop rules, discipline, and directions to follow throughout a school year. Most importantly, it sets the tone for the teacher to student relationship that is very imperative. In a younger classroom, say preK, classroom management would be giving each student a "job" each week so that there is no argumentation when it comes to who is holding the door or passing out snack. In an older classroom, such as 3rd grade, classroom management might be establishing a set of ground rules on the first day of school and posting them on the door in the classroom for students to refer back to throughout the year. Most importantly, classroom management requires teachers to follow through and build trust with their students. Like we discussed from the reading, students are not going to trust a teacher that does not follow their word. If a teacher does not implement any management in their classroom, then their students will automatically assume they can do as they please. Students rely on their teacher to set a precedent for good classroom management skills at the very start of the year.

Classroom management can be defined as the tools and rules that allow a classroom to run smoothly and safely. Classroom management is important because without it the class would be insane, creating a hard environment to learn in. Within an elementary classroom, classroom management would look like smooth transitions between activities, indoor voice ,and appropriate behaviors. Around the room, you can see posters demonstrating what the expectations for the students are. Teachers should focus on the positive behaviors within the classroom in order to motivate and reshape the negative behaviors. To maintain an effective classroom management, it is imperative for teachers to clearly and specifically demonstrate what is expected from the students. By doing this, students will know what to do and when they are not doing what they are suppose to be.

Classroom management is a crucial thing for all classrooms, including elementary classrooms. Classroom management can look different for all teachers because it is the unique style that a person uses to keep control of their students. It is the way a teacher disciplines, creates rules, and establishes an appropriate classroom environment. In any classroom, this may sound like the students being on task and the teacher using a calm and steady tone of voice. If there is an outburst from a student, the teacher handles it immediately and swiftly so as to not distract the rest of the students. Classroom management looks like all of the students in a classroom knowing what is expected of them each day and carrying out those expectations. Whether it is directions for what to do in the morning or how to sit down after recess, there is always a plan that the students know to follow. Although elementary school classrooms can contain pretty young children, teachers who establish their classroom management plan from the very beginning of the school year can have no trouble implementing their rules.

Classroom management is the enforcement of rules that come from the classroom values and principles. For example, a value would be the safety of everyone in the classroom. One of multiple rules that might come from that value could be "No running in the classroom." The teacher in the room must then enforce that rule, along with all others, with specific pre-explained disciplinary action.
In an early childhood or elementary classroom, classroom management should be very clear and have little to no grey area. It should also be extremely consistent. On the first day of school and throughout the first week or so, the values, rules, and disciplinary actions should be explained and discussed amongst the class. I believe that explaining the value behind the rule is important, because, like Curwin, Mendler, and Mendler explain in this week's reading, students will be more likely to abide by the classroom rules if they understand why the rule is in place. I know from my own experience that explanations to rules that were along the lines of, "Because I said so," left me with little motivation to follow those rules. However, if a teacher explained that, for example, "You may not leave the classroom without asking me because I care about your safety and need to know where you are," I was left with a better understanding of why it's important to follow the rules in place.
In terms of consistency, it is very important that teachers are consistent with the classroom management plan. Like we've discussed in class, only disciplining students sometimes in some circumstances leaves students confused and unable to trust that the teacher means what he or she says. It can result in more behavior problems and less control of the classroom. Always and consistently going back to the plan that was set on the first day of school will prove to students that they can trust you and your word.

Classroom management is the structure the teacher has for the students and the way the classroom is to be organized. This concept is very important for a teacher to effectively run a classroom. Not only does it help the teacher run the classroom smoothly, it also helps keep students safe. It is important to manage the classroom in a way where procedures and rules are clearly defined so that students can act in a way that will keep them and others safe. In an elementary classroom, classroom management can take on many forms, however, it should be consistent and clear in each classroom. Students should have clear expectations for how they are to behave and complete tasks throughout the day, and these expectations must be explained the first day of school so that the students know what is expected of them right from the start. They should know what is expected of them from the moment they step into the classroom until the moment they step out at the end of the day. This includes students putting their belongings in their cubbies, smoothly transitioning from activities, using indoor voices, working collaboratively, abiding by class norms, cleaning up and putting materials away, etc. The teacher needs to model these behaviors and remind students of what to do if they aren't adhering to these expectations.

Classroom management is the way an educator manages and structures the classroom. It is the strategies used to keep the classroom safe and help keep class running smoothly and effectively. Classroom management can look different in many different classrooms depending on how the teacher goes about managing the classroom. It could be the way the classroom is set up as well daily expectations. Classroom management should should very calm and collected. A teacher should never have to raise their voice. This is because expectations should be set in advance and the students should know what they are supposed to do. Without clear expectations before an activity things can get out of hand very quick. Without good classroom management teachers cannot properly educate their students and keep them safe.

Classroom management is having expectations for your classroom. As an educator, it is important that your students know what is expected of them from the first day of school. It is important that the structure of the classroom is set up in a way that students can succeed in a safe environment. In an elementary classroom, I think that classroom management is having students respect you, their peers and the classroom. It is important that students are safe in their classroom. Students should line up, walk in the hallway and speak in an appropriate manner. For example making sure students are not running around or speaking when someone else is. It is important that the students know what your expectations are and that they are followed from the first day of class.

Classroom management is a means in which a teacher maintains control in a classroom and keeps the classroom running smoothly. Classroom management is often a subconscious aspect of the classroom and when implemented correctly, it is something that is an unspoken rule that the class follows. Classroom management is a vital part of the functionality of a classroom, and this portrays itself in many ways in the classroom past just classroom rules and norms. In an early childhood or elementary classroom, classroom management can be seen as many things, but the most prevalent is the implementation of classroom rules and expectations. For young children, rules need to be set and maintained for the stability necessary in their lives. Students at this age are constantly taking in new information and experiences, and rules being set and followed through in the classroom sets that lifetime expectation and understanding of rules and regulations.

Classroom management is a mixture of methods that teacher's use to control their classroom and avoid harm to their student by maintaining the room safe. The best way to keep management in the class is by constant repetition of the management. You start by teaching the management (at the beginning of the year,) repeating the phrase or action over and over again, and then reinforcing it throughout the year when children might forget. For example, at the beginning of the year, you teach the class that when the lights are turned off, their voices also "turn off," which means they have to freeze and become silent. You would repeat the phrase, "lights off, voices off!" every time the lights were to go out, until the students understand without having to be told. As the year continues, reinforce by using the phrase if students happen to forget.

Classroom management is the way a teacher structures their classroom. It is a teachers duty to make sure their classroom is a safe environment, knowing the importance of classroom management helps that. Giving students a set list of expectations the first day of school is a great start to good classroom management. Giving students these expectations the first day shows the responsibilities they will have to follow moving forward. Letting the students know there are rules to be met gives the students some discipline without having to be harsh or unorganized. Kids tend to goof off and forget there are rules, but as a teacher you are there to remind them. Eventually the set of expectations from the student will become just a habit for them; that is why classroom management is good. It keeps an organized classroom, gives kids structure, and molds them into adults.

It is anything from keeping the students safe to having simple rules that will help not only the students learn but will help the teacher be able to keep everything in line. Classroom management in an elementary education classroom could sound something like "1,2,3 eyes on me" and the students should turn their voices off and turn towards you as the teacher and pay attention.

The goal is always to help the child learn behavior management skills that will benefit them when entering elementary school and beyond. The students should have a role in creating the rules, creating a connection with them and a willingness to follow. They should be easily understood and followed, such as "use walking feet inside the classroom". Teachers should always have a quiet voice, expecting the students to listen. Shouting can make the students feel disrespected, scared, or unwilling to follow the rules.

Classroom management refers to the ability of teachers to be able to educate their students in a way that keeps the classroom and students safe and attentive. When this is done correctly it will help all the students within the classroom to be able to learn the information being taught without outside distractions. All students learn in different ways, but if all students are focused and understand what is expected of them, this will result in better classroom management. In an Elementary School classroom, classroom management expectations need to be repeated everyday from the beginning of the year to help the students realize what is expected of them. As an Elementary School teacher it is important to always stay calm and collected in order to keep the classroom at a low voice level at all times.
