National History Day may be an example. The groups that made it to states this year was clearly and example of a cohesive group that met frequently.

I have worked with other staff on yearlong projects; we've met with each student at intervals and those checkpoints allow both personalized instruction to occur as well as the development of a better relationship with students.

It's almost like a club that takes place during the school day. They build a sense of community and according to the speaker, act as the advocate for the students. We will also have the tech to take programming to the next level (java and python) for students who are advanced (Hillcrest Alum).
