The report commented on the use of drugs versus psychotherapies, saying that 'the number of people receiving medication provides a much greater economic gain than psychological therapies. Bowly's research on emotional deprivation, offered many benefits to society. The United Nations Children's Fund says ‘No one disputes that food and nutrition are vital for a baby's health and welfare’ but what about stimulation and a sense of security? How about love? Lack of these things can have a detrimental effect on the child just as much as lack of food.
