In my opinion this is how i see plants role in society. Plants are apart of the food chain and the circle of life. without plants many herbivores don't get food, and if the herbivores die that limits food for us people. Then that cycle repeats itself, and also affects other food chain cycles, because then many carnivores won't have food either. lastly plants do provide us with food, but they also provide us oxygen and are a very big role in today's society.

This video that I found best describes the process of photosynthesis in my opinion. It gives a brief but detailed break down of the entire process. It explains that both autotrophs , and heterotrophs need photosynthesis to survive. It also shows the that the circle of life would be non-existent without photosynthesis.

This land plant is called a mosses. It is a Byrophyte that is found in Georgia. Mosses are non-vascular plants; unlike vascular plants, they don't have tissues that transport water and nutrients throughout the plant. Mosses are also different because they use spores to reproduce - they don't have flowers

This Biome is called a grassland, and these biomes are in the most danger ecologically. out of all the biomes grasslands take up most of the earths surface, but are also the most altered . Grasslands are the least protected biome on the planet. Only 3.4% of the world's temperate grasslands are protected. More than half of all temperate grasslands have been converted for crop production, forest plantations, urbanization and other land uses. These practices have all led and are continuing to lead to habitat loss.

This diagram shows the impact the plant domestication had on society. it shows that it decreased the demand for food and crops, and also increased food production. One of the benefits of plant domestication was to increase food supplies and make them more predictable. This diagram also shows the increase of genetic diversity and human population growth. This led to a change in gender roles, often leading to the emphasis of men being more focused on production and creation of food resources, while women became caretakers of the home. Previously, women likely spend much of their time collecting food for human societies.

the farming plow is the most important
agricultural implement since the beginning of history, used to turn and break up soil, to bury crop residues, and to help control weeds. From the single plow, advances were made to two or more plows fastened together, allowing for more work to be done with approximately the same manpower. Today, plows are not used nearly as extensively as before due in large part to the popularity of minimum tillage to reduce soil erosion and conserve moisture.

This is an Odium Poppie the plant from which morphine is derived from. Morphine is one of the most commonly used pain killers in in the world and I feel as though it is the most influential chemical/medicine used in the world that is derived from a plant. I feel this is so because Morphine is a very powerful painkiller, but it is also very addictive. This can be very dangerous and it's often abused in the world today, which is why i feel that it's very influential in both positive and negative ways.

This picture is an example of what I envision the world will look like in the future if present day agricultural, economic, social, and political practices go unchecked. Pollution is one of the leading environmental issues today. By preventing pollution we are reducing the number of endangered species, keeping the air quality clean, and making our earth an overall healthier environment.
