Today we were finishing off our previous work which was to analyse the positivists and negatives of wix and simpl also the differences between the two website designers. i found that wix is a lot better than simpl  also we were making our mind map to show the ideas for our website we had to include the different things we would want to include on our website like the colours or certain types of images like poly art or graphic design. it all depends on the theme of our website my theme is graphic design. over the holidays i am going to have to do the project proposal. this includes writing down what i want to do with my website and why. Looking at the final outcomes of the lesson i think that i am alot more productive and i got all of the work finished and have finished the website early so i am ahead of the schedule. during this features of simpl was that it was generally hard to use which is why i have chosen to use wix as the website builder im going to use. during this lesson i have learnt how to use wix and simpl. i had to use my analysing skills again during this lesson to analyse and compare simpl and wix. i found out that wix is the better website builder because it is ironically alot more easy and simple to it and go over why we had included the images on the mind map and what we were going to include on our website. with my mind map i didn't have enough space to fit the explanations so i included this on another document to make it easier to read when doing the focus group. i think that i worked well during this lesson because i got all of the work done and the focus group was successful because i learnt some of the things that i could include on my website ad some of the reasons why people would want to go on to my website. some of the problems that i found during this lesson was not being designing our website we were also doing the about me part for our website. some of the problems that i came up against was when doing the flat design i had to find the right template that i wanted to use before i could start doing the flat template but once i found the right template that i wanted to use it was very easy to do the flat design. we also started to do the logo design for our website i did my logo design on photoshop because it is the program that i am most familiar with. the only problem i came up against with this was when i saved it sometimes my documents wipes itself so i also for twitter and Facebook were the wrong colour and weren't easily visible on the background that I chose. the solution that I found to this was that I could open the files in Photoshop and manually change them . Another problem I found was that the video that I wanted to add to my website was on YouTube and this would me using a YouTube video down-loader which could potentially  give the computer a virus. the solution that I found to this problem was that there is an option on wix to upload a video on to YouTube using a YouTube link. my personal target for this lesson was to get the problems and solutions sheet finished and I have managed to do this in the lesson and up to a good standard. ]]> 2016-04-27 14:57:57 UTC https://padlet.com/josh_lighten/ojkv2gxouv6c/wish/108040973 josh_lighten https://padlet.com/josh_lighten/ojkv2gxouv6c/wish/108238725 Today we were doing the evaluation for our website which is the final part of unit 7 we were also showing our website and getting feedback from the young professionals. some of the feedback I got was that I should change the logo to have my name as the main piece of text and put Graphic Design at the bottom. Also that I should change my bio section so that I split it up so I have separate titles for each part of it so it doesn't look like one big piece of text. when presenting my website the assessor said that the strengths of my website are that all of the colours link together which gives it a clean look also that there are lots of links to social media sites in various different places. also the layout of the work on my page is very clean and professional looking. if i was going to improve anything on my website I think that I would add more work to my website. Also remake the logo to make it look more professional.
