This is the battle of Gettysburg, here is where the magic happens. The union is fighting for african americans rights but the confederates want to keep their slaves. Would ya believe it! This battle started because of the south struggling and not having many supplies left. shoes, being one of them. The battle started by chance when the confederates heard word there were shoes at this abandoned shoe factory in PA and they mistakenly ran into the union on their way to the factory this resulted in a battle, but not just any battle, a bloodshed battle that lasted 7 days. In this battle on both sides they lost over 50,000 men. But majority men lost were a part of the confederates side The battle of Gettysburg was very important; it was a turning point for the civil war Robert E. Lee's plan to invade the North and force an immediate end to the war failed. Because all he did was push them up onto higher grounds which gave them a massive advantage and resulted in the south's downfall in the battle The collision of two great armies at Gettysburg put an end to that audacious plan. This battle was also really important because  these losses impacted the Confederacy in such a way that they could not keep up with the demand on the Union side because of the numbers of their population being relatively small compared to the Union. The aftermath of the battle was incredibly disappointing because of the loss of the men who fought, but also helped the union drastically without this battle the union would not have helped pave the way for the union to win the civil war.
