Writing and Drawing to make Short Stories

During my time still at Kipp, my teacher would always make us write small stories and draw pictures for the mini book. While the other kids didn't like it much, I loved them personally. It allowed me to let my imagination run wild with silly ideas for a story and make whatever.

By the time I reached 4th grade, we started getting into more chapter books which I most definitely hated since there weren't a lot of pictures in it of course. But there was this one book series in particular that I've grown to love, Percy Jackson. My Teacher recommended it to me since I loved fantasy and Greek mythology and it was the best thing I've read

Sometimes when I was on break or when my mother felt like it was necessary, She would make me read other chapter books and write down a summary of those 2 or 3 chapters I would read to help boost my reading comprehension and understanding

Inspiration from Games

As a kid, I was shown to games at a very early age. Since games had complex words, my dad would help and even try and test me by trying to understand words. Many games I played on my Wii and DS was the biggest reason I understood most hard words and why it came so easy.

5th grade

When I passed the 4th grade at Kipp I went to a different school called Mann Elementary for the 5th grade. In that school, Educational books started to get more demanding and reading started to feel more like a chore more than reading just reading for a while. It started to feel a bit bland and reading felt less entertaining to do.

6th Grade

When I arrive to this school GSA, due to some of the effects from my last school of how reading bored me and how I avoided it, It felt like a slight reliever when it got better here then where I was at Mann.

7th Grade snooze

To be fair, in 7th grade doing zoom classes was a complete sleep through. But Since everything was now online, I wasn't expecting to do so much reading and actually read word for word quickly and get the assignments done (even when some of course were missing).

8th Grade

I grew up around hearing and speaking English. I was always the quiet child so I never spoke much actually, but once my parents encourage me to speak up more and more

High School

Approaching high school, essays and literature became more easier for me and it felt more natural to do, despite it also kind of becoming a chore as well a little.

Junior year - continuing

Continuing forward I think its okay to get interested in stories. Especially since I love to imagine and make mini stories. But I am grateful that i have progressing and learning more that what I currently understand
