My ethnicity is important to me because it represents who I am and how I value things in life. It helps me maintain peace within myself, and allows me to be a part of a group who accepts me no matter what. My ethnicity also helps me live my daily life. Without it, I would be lost and heading in the wrong direction.

We live in villages where people work together to sustain life. Where I live now shows traces of living in a village. I live in a community that is not so close to the city. I also know everyone in my neighborhood, which shows how people would know each other in the villages. My attitude is based on what the situation is. It all depends on what is given to me and how I give it back to others.

I follow a set of beliefs in my religious background that everyone who is a part of this religion follows. Just like how everyone in different religions follow a certain set of beliefs. For my spiritual background, I do certain things for the betterment of myself. My spiritual beliefs are really important to me because they help my mental state and my physical state. They help me be at peace with myself. It is important for me to view myself positively otherwise it can have a really big effect on my mental health.

Diwali is also known as the festival of lights and is celebrated by Sikhs, Hindus, and Jains. Diwali to sikhs is important because it celebrates the release of our sixth guru (God) along with 52 other princes that were kept in jail by a supreme leader. Their return was celebrated by putting lights outside along their houses and lighting the Golden Temple. 
Nagar kirtan also known as the Sikh parade is held to celebrate the holy scripture, “Guru Granth Sahib” which was written by our 10th Guru (God). The holy scriptures were given to us by the 10th Guru to show us that the only Guru (God) we should believe in now is the holy scripture, “Guru Granth Sahib.”

English has also allowed me to connect with others and also has allowed me to communicate with my family in another language. American culture has a big influence on people that are not necessarily American. From what I have seen and learned, many people try to fit into American culture, and some of the ways they do that is by forgetting their own culture. Although, being exposed to many other cultures is not a bad thing. It actually can open up your mind and you can expand your knowledge of the world. Cultures do influence how you feel and express your emotions. Sometimes it can be a bad thing in your culture to show anger or success. Language can influence your emotions and also how you feel. If you know more than one language, you probably will switch between languages to express how you feel and what your emotions are.

One of the big lessons I have learned is that it doesn't matter how rich or poor you are, if there is someone that needs help, you should always try to help to the best of your ability. Instead of judging people based on their situation, do something else that will help them. Every good deed is not only good for your mental health but it can also come back to you.

For me, I have participated in community clean ups and I also greet everyone in my neighborhood. A small act like saying ‘hello’ can connect you to your community. Community activities are important as they bring people together. It is important to engage in these activities because it allows them to be more open and gain more knowledge. Community activities are important to me because each activity I have participated in has helped the community in some sort of way. I don't really get to travel a lot, so participating in these activities helps me to get outside and out of my comfort zone.

You can gain knowledge from anything but you have to be careful because sometimes the knowledge you can learn could be false. Knowledge can be gained from any source that is offered online. Social media can be a source of knowledge, but it isn't always reliable. To check if the information is true, you use multiple other sources to see if the information corresponds. Belief can also be knowledge depending on the way you look at it. If there is a religious belief, then no outsider can say that belief is wrong as they are not a part of that religion. A belief can also be justified as true knowledge. If the belief has been justified in its own way, then it is knowledge. I also believe that facts and beliefs do come together. A fact is created from a belief. When the belief is tested over and over again, then the beat becomes justified as a truth. If it is not proven wrong for the amount of times the “belief” has been used then it becomes a fact.

I try to create my own style and life but I also do take influence from other people that I look up to. I try not to blend into society as much because I believe that is boring. I try to do things differently, such as the way I dress is not the same as how everyone else dresses. I also live collectively in a sense that I do things that most people also do. I have similar routines to other working people. It is something that all individuals just commonly share.

My relationship with others is solely based on personality and if it is genuinely nice to talk to them. I will talk to anyone but that doesn't mean that I can't stop talking to them. For me it doesn't matter who you are, it is just the personality that attracts me to becoming friends with you.

Everyone is naturally good until they are influenced by different social factors which can direct them into different directions. Many people then start to stay to themselves and try not to engage with others' problems because on one else is doing it. We usually engage when we see each other engage.

I also believe that friendships that are not created on status last longer because you actually care for the person instead of caring for the status. I also believe that people should not be treated differently because of their cultural background. Everyone should be welcomed the same.

Otherwise when approaching a problem, both sides should be looked at before making a decision.
