         <description><![CDATA[<div>&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>This group has been put in place for middle school and high school&nbsp; girls and boys, ages eleven and sixteen, who struggle with the loss of a parent to incarceration.Through a needs assessment, it was determined that s student are effected academically and emotionally while dealing with this loss which prompted counselor to create this group.<br><br></div>]]></description>

Counselor will also gather referral data from teachers TEAMS and family member. The counselor will conduct a screening. This small screening would discuss their thoughts on where they are academically, socially, and emotionally.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <title>Group Dynamics</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Group dynamics will vary based on the amount of time each students parent has been sentenced to.<br>Stage 1 will focus on getting to know each other. The icebreaker would be light so that the participants feel comfortable and promote trust amongst each other.&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<br><br>Stage 2 will involve engaging activities and discussions that include creating a memory box, picture collage, and writing letters to their parent.&nbsp;<br><br>Stage 3 conclude with a team building activity where each student shares how the skills learned&nbsp; in the group has helped with coping and improving their academics and how it will be applied to their everyday life. A follow up plan will be put in place to speak with the students individually and as a group. A follow up with the teachers, family members, students as well to determine if the session was successful or not.<br><br></div>]]></description>
