When I am able to examine my emotions more closely, however,  I am able to see how self centered this discomfort is--will I say something wrong, will I sound stupid or not "woke" enough, I will offend someone. The reality is that all of these things will probably be true but advancing the conversation about race to ultimately reach solutions is FAR more important than my discomfort.
