I say this because people who attend school make the choice to participate and to learn, and it is up to them to take the opportunities that they want to leave school with. Some people go to school and truly view it as a luxury or great opportunity to learn, become successful, start a career, and more. However, others do not view school to be as important and therefore do not gain much out of attending. It is necessary for them to attend school as children and adolescents, but by the time they are fully in charge of their own education, they may feel that they can do more without college. I watched a students face light up from understanding a question for the first time. This image replays in my head every time I am asked why I want to be a teacher.
