Some of these other drugs can be more dangerous than Ecstasy especially when the user doesn't know what they are ingesting.

    Some long term effects of Ecstasy are depression and even death. Most long term effects aren't known as not much research has been done.

In the 1950's the US military examined it and thought of it as a potential warfare agent in order to disable enemy troops. The 1980's MDMA got it's new nickname, Ecstasy (As well as other slang names), and in 1985 adolescents started using it a lot more resulting in the emergency scheduling of Ecstasy into C1 of the CSA in 1985.
