During my last internship in Banteay Community Fitness Center in Cambodia as a marketing trainee, my manager practised a laissez-faire style. He was very supportive whenever I had any questions or when I was seeking advices otherwise he would have given me the instructions would have let me do it on my own, I just had to respect the deadline. He was very open-minded and I felt that he was attentively listening whenever I had any subjections.

Conflicts in my past experiences has mainly caused because of mis-communication. For exemple during my internship in BBA2 one source of conflict was mis-communication when it came to sick leaves and absences. For examples some employees did not informe the manager about being absence or would rely on a colleague to pass through the information to the management. Often the information was not communicated to the manager and that lead would lead to last minute changes because there was no-one to replace the absent staff. This would lead to many tensions firstly between the manager and the absent staff because he did not handle the situation professionally but also between the absent staff and the person that had to cover his absence. No-one is ever happy about changes their plans and work extra hours to cover for someone that did not follow the protocol.

During my last internship, the gym that I was interning at had many sponsors. The manager would motivate the staffs buy rewarding them with gifts from sponsors. For example, we were often rewarded by free movie tickers for providing a good job as one of our sponsors was a cinema company. The staffs new that rewards was given at the end of the month to the best staff which is why the focused on working hard.

As an employee I feel more motivated when working for an establishment that recognise the hard work that you are putting in for the company.

The brand and values are most important for an hotel. Having a bad reputation will not attract customers as negative reviews effects more customers decision than positive reviews. Also it is important for hotel to stand for their values. No clients would want to go to a hotel that does not stick to its promises. Sticking to values is important to gain the trust of clients in order to build customer loyalty but also important to attract new customers.

Such as how to good is presented, how payments are made our the brand treat the customers. In the past, luxury was purchased for materialistic purposes, people now would rather have less luxury items but with a story to tell behind.

Conflicts in the workplace can be negative because they always create tensions between the persons involve but also create groups due to different opinions towards the problem. This can effect the productivity of the workspace as sometimes even if someone was not involved in the conflits due to peer pressure that person feel the need to have an opinion which result in that person choosing one side. This can end up in a bad situation where colleagues would not want to corporate with each others. However conflicts can also be positive and they can refer to a bigger problem. If determine properly by managers that conflict can help not to have similar situation in the future.
