I believe that social media should be a factor when hiring someone. Having people that bring a negative energy or cause chaos in a workspace can cause other employees to be taken off-task. People also post the things they find important. If someone is posting themself doing drugs, they aren't a good hire. However, if they are posting things related to the field of work they are applying for, they obviously have a passion for it.

I’m in the middle, social media is not the person hiring’s business, if they’re posting bad stuff then I get it. But if it’s just general stuff like travels, going out having fun and stuff like that then I don’t see why they would snoop, another reason why I think your socials should be private

I think it's very important to have a digital footprint because it says a lot about the person. Depending on the job, it doesn't have to be something main to accept or not. Many other things count besides the digital footprint.
