The use of diversion in our magazine will definitely meet the audiences needs as they will want to escape from reality and their normal lives to read and discover what happens in a music stars live or their favourite artists life. It is all associated with the public love of knowing the latest gossip and stories about their idols and other celebrities. A variety of the articles inside music magazine try to connect with the audience through rhetorical questions as it will make the reader think about what was asked but it would keep them thinking for a longer period of time about the celebrity/subject involved. It would also connect with them using emotive language towards the audience so they are portrayed to feel upset about their idol/celebrity. We will be using these techniques but we want to make sure that the audience will have a positive mood throughout the whole reading of the magazine.

Expectations -

One key influence on customers' expectations is price. Many customers believe that the more that they will have to pay, the better the service/product should be but that isn't always the case. Although the customer do not believe that a low price means a poor product/service. We will meet this by offering a great price for a great product which will appeal our target audience but we feel will also create an expansion of different audience types. Another expectation from the audience to magazine editors is that they would like to have a personal connection with some of the subjects and idols that will be used in a magazine to make the reading more realistic to the readers emotions. This will also present an unrealistic sense of normal lives to others as some audiences feel that idols and other celebrities don't have the same lives as working people.

It is an approach to understanding mass communication (katz1959). It assumes that members of the audience are not passive but take an active role in interpreting media into their own lives. It will also make the audiences responsible for choosing media to meet their own needs. It is an audience centre approach. By seeking out media, a person fulfils a need to be informed. social situations motivate the need for media which motivates the expectations of that particular media.

It is a model that is representing a change in thinking, as researchers begin to describe the effects of media from an audiences prospective. It is the understanding of what the audience does for the media and not vice-versa. It is also the understanding of what the audience does for the media that help sales, for example the audience buying the product will help the media sales.
