Weathering and Erosion

This picture of the concrete in front of my garage is an example of weathering. Over the years the concrete has broken apart and into much smaller pieces. The reasons for this are that water from the roof has fallen on to the concrete so much causing it to break. Also the water gets trapped in the cracks and freezes then expands causing the cracks to break even more. After learning about weathering and erosion now I relies why the
concrete is so beat up.

At the bottom are photos of weathering and erosion. The picture of the fence is weathering. The fence changed color in some spots because of all the water from the trees and pool. In the photo of the small hill, there are roots that are there because of erosion. It's there because of all the rain that hits it. Rain pounds on the dirt and causes the dirt to start breaking apart. Water also freezes in cracks that are there, making chunks of it break off of the hill.

It has also broken up into smaller pieces over time. The reasons why this happened is because when it rains all of the water from it causes it to break into smaller pieces. Another reason why is because after the rain goes away it gets stuck inside of the cracks and then it freezes up and makes the concrete spread apart even more. Thoses are some of the reasons why the concrete splits up into smaller pieces

I found this crack on my driveway and it was caused by weathering. The reason why it is there is because of animals, water, ice and the temperature drop. Water fills the crack, freezes and expands. Ice melts and breaks up the rock into tiny pieces. Animals dig under the driveway causing the driveway to crack. Heat causes rock to expand and cold causes rock to contrast. That process makes cracks in my driveway. Those are all of my reasons why there is a crack in my driveway.

This crack has gotten bigger over time because of the heat has moved the tar apart into a crack. Also, the ice contributed by when it is winter the water would get into the crack and then freeze which takes up more space so the road would start to push apart, which made the crack get bigger and bigger.

The video inspired me to check on this crack every year noting the changes I see. My first note I will put for 2020 is that there are plants growing out of the crack and it looks like a ski mountain. I will also note that it looks like water and tempature made this happen. As years pass I infure the crack will get bigger and bigger. That is the erosion I have noticed at my house.
