Here are some thoughts about the summer SAMR learning group we have been talking about.

Obejctives

To investigate SAMR technology model and identify ways current lessons or units could be elevated on the SAMR scale

to support enhanced student learning.

Advance professional technology tool knowledge of google sites, online concept maps

engage in a modified backward design process.

Week 1 - 2

Read several articles about SAMR. (To be provided by Ruth Walker)
Evidence of participation:
adding a web page to a group google site sharing thoughts, ideas, questions and concerns about SAMR

Group google site will be set up by Ruth Walker.

Week 3 - 4

June 29 - July 10

create a concept map of a lesson or unit as it is currently taught

discuss/determine what should be included on the concept map

a post to google page about ideas, concerns, questions about this part of the process or post to another participants page with ideas, concerns, questions and/or solutions to their posting.

concept map apps will be collected and shared on the google group site. This application (padlet) is one option.

Week 5 - 6

using SAMR model resources make a concept map of how the lesson could be elevated (or add to the existing concept map) using instructional technology resources

Week 7 - 8

On the extended concept map, add nodes to identify materials, skills, and resources needed to implement the leveraged lesson/unit
