Bronze was a huge part of their economy at the time and were used in royalty and military. Another key part of the empire was oracle bones. Oracle bones were used to tell the future and to create prophecies depended on how the bone cracked when burnt. The people of the Shang dynasty worshiped their ancestors as well as many other gods.
