In addition, a child’s home fits into this category.  If a child is living in a nurturing home, they will thrive.  If a child’s home life is less than ideal, it will have a direct impact on that child and how they function at school.

This will also include the interactions we have with parents that a child views.  If a child sees that a parent does not agree or approve of an administrator, they are more likely to feel the same.  It is important as future administrators to create positive relationships not just with students but families as well. This also means ensuring students see positive interaction between school staff and parents.  As a future administrator, this is something I hope to strive for.  ]]> 2019-10-02 00:51:36 UTC https://padlet.com/jblack111/oirpm7oil7av/wish/392214951 Exosystem jblack111 https://padlet.com/jblack111/oirpm7oil7av/wish/392216398 Made up of factors that impact a child’s life but not in a direct way.  The best example of this is the company a child’s parents work for or at.  Factors like a parent’s work environment effect the amount of time a parent is able to spend with their child, as well as influencing the resources a parent has to care for a child (Exploring Your Mind, 2019). 
 
As a future administrator, the exosystem is something that can affect our job, as well.  If a child’s parent is out of work, or working for a company that is downsizing, this may affect the behavior of the child at school. Administrators need to be mindful of these factors when dealing with students, there may be underlying issues to a student’s behavior.
