Then you’ve came to the right place, i’m here to teach you step by step on how they do it.

Step 1: Make sure you are awake early because they start early in the morning and go all day to hunt for their food.

Step 2: Grab a hunting tool that you choose either a knife, war hammer, spear, or the very popular bow and arrow.

Step 3: Next you an either grap friends/family to come with you to the woods or to a bush to find the food.

Step 4: If you’re trying to kill an animal like a buffalo, elk, deer, rabbits, or antelope you have to make sure you are very quiet because the animals will get scared away if not.

Step 5: Natives get food from hunting as well as gathering things such as berries, nuts, and fruit. So if you want to gather rather than hunt you’ll have to find bushes or trees with these things on them.

Step 6: Once you get your foods take them back to the place where you stay and start to prep them for cooking.

Step 7: After the foods have been cleaned it’s time to cook them however you want in cooking baskets or earthenware pottery that traditional Native Americans use to cook their food.

The one sunny day on a period of tears, the tribes announced a new form of training called stickball. The very first event is held at the open field between two tribes, cherokee and Apache. As soon as the violent game started everyone cheered for their particular tribes. The first point was scored within the first 5 minutes of the game between two trees by the cherokee tribe. After a few broken bones and hard hits the cherokee tribe scores again as the sun slowly goes down.

The cherokee tribe has speed and strength within the men by how they are performing through the opening game. The final score is 2-0 cherokee tribe. The man who created stickball was interviewed after the game. He said “This has created a high level form of training for the men of all tribes” He has many followers who agree that stickball is a good creation and shall be continued throughout many more tribes. There is a wide spread of anger throughout the audience because many players have been injured and may never train again. “The gear isn’t protective to the trainers” a local women says. Some people are complaining because it could be burning the energy and strength of the men in case of war.

Some players were interviewed and asked how they viewed the idea of stickball. Some think it is a great opportunity to get strong mentally and physically, but others thought it was just entertainment and not seen as a training game. Overall the first game of stickball impacted many individuals and has changed the training process for many men along the Native tribes.

The Beat of the Sacred Lakota Drum

Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! The mighty sound of the sacred Lakota drums echoed through the Great Plains of America. The great Powwow celebration was in full affect. The great chief of Lakota says, “The great Powwows began on the first full moon, and have been taking place every other full moon since. This celebration unifies our great Indian nation.” The Lakota tribe celebrate with Powwows by feasting, celebrating, and dancing to the powerful drums. During my stay, food was constantly thrown in front of me, there was corn soup, strawberry juice, fry bread, ham and scone, Indian tacos, and the famous buffalo burger. There were so many different varieties of food brought from different tribes. The foods were appetizing however the climax of the celebration was the drum circle.

The drum circle, in many ways the heart of the Powwow celebration just began! In the Lakota tribe these powerful drums are viewed as sacred. Each drum has a personal keeper. This chosen keeper is often the eldest son of a selected family. The keepers are responsible for protecting their drums. The Lakota believe the drums to be the heartbeat of the Indian nation. They believe this because of the unifying of the local tribes coming together to celebrate their God. During the drum circle, both men and women participate, by dressing up in colorful costumes that often represent past warriors. These dances are often fast paced and very exciting. The incredible beat of the drums joined with the majestic singing and dancing was a sight of a lifetime. There are no words for the beauty of the colorful costumes, mesmerizing smells of food and humming of the drums.
