PS: I agree that having a positive attitude is necessary for success. To me, being successful means achieving my life term goals. Having a positive attitude means to keep trying and keeping me head up when times are tough, and always finding solutions when there are obstacles

No mirror can reflect a picture of a human

as best as his way of speech can.Consequently,I believe that the way we speak reveals who we are and shows a lot about our distinctive character.The way we speak shows our upbringing,personality and lifestyle.

During the December school vacation, most people enjoy spending time with their family, pursuing hobbies, and relaxing. While some argue for the necessity of a long break for rejuvenation, some suggest that it could be shortened to maintain academic momentum.

Personal statement:

Personally, I think that the duration is sufficient for us to take time off from the stressful and repetitive cycle.

Thesis statement: As we have a long vacation, we will be able to benefit by exploring new interests and relieve stress.

P: it gives us students an opportunity to spend time to relax and take time away from the stressful environment and high expectations in our academics.

E: A lot of students become stuck in the cycle of studying and repeating the same routines everyday. Some of them may be overstimulated and overwhelmed with their studies , and have no time to rest and relax as theyre trying to stay on task and achieve the high standards they try to meet.

E: Having such a long holiday , us students can use it as an opportunity to rest while also study in moderation. The long holiday serves as a chance for students to take time away from the academic pressure , and achieve balance in their life by spending time to relax and improve their mental health. By taking regular walks , hanging out with their friends and doing things that we usually cannot do due to the restrictions of our school, the december holiday allows us to explore and enjoy things

L: However , for certain people that are unable to self initiate , they might fall behind on their studies and it will take a long time for them to get back on track.  I believe that 2 months is sufficient for us to sort out our lives and also having a longer vacation break might make it difficult for those that completely do not occasionally study to catch up on schoolwork when they come back.

P: Having a long holiday break is not necessary, as the 2 month long holiday is sufficient for us to learn a new hobby or skill quickly and efficiently.

E: During our normal-length holiday, we can dedicate focused time to learning a new hobby or skill whether it’s painting, cooking, playing a musical instrument, or mastering a new language.

E: Having a shorter holiday makes us concentrate better during learning periods without the need for an extended break from our daily responsibilities. With proper planning and time management, we can immerse ourselves in the learning process during a normal-length holiday, maximizing our productivity and progress. A shorter break prevents the risk of losing momentum or interest that can occur during longer vacations.

L: A long vacation is not necessary, having a normal-length holiday is enough for us to complete our assignments and destress.

P: One way I spend my holiday is spending time with my loved ones

E: A holiday is what we need to spend time with our loved ones. There are many ways to bond and create memories such as going out, having deep talks and play games together!

E: For example, my family decided to travel last December as it is a time where all of us could take time off for a vacation together. We had an amazing time as we took a lot of pictures together for memories for us to look back on in the future and discover a lot of great things. This trip was the perfect opportunity for me to spend time with my family after finishing my N levels.

L: The vacation only took a few weeks out of the long December break we had, and I had the opportunity to spend my time to do many other things , therefore I don’t think having a long holiday is necessary

conclusion:

In conclusion, i think that 2 months is the right time frame we need as students to take time away and pursue other things outside of school.

One of the prime reasons that the younger people in the contemporary period to lack the thought process as compared to the older generation is due to the heavily reliance on technology to carry out their everyday lives and daily tasks. This is especially true when school is taken into account. Many students and peers tend to use artificial intelligence and search engines to heavily assist in their thinking and learning skills. For example, students use search engines such as ChatGPT to assist in their homework or giving ideas that students cannot come up with. This hinders their thought process as students cannot brainstorm ideas properly without any heavy assistants.

Although there are negatives to advanced technology acting on humans, there are positives that are overlooked often. Humanity has reached so far and a big contributing factors to this reason is due to the huge advancements in technology we have today. The advanced artificial intelligence and technology help build the fundamental foundation for ideas that provide people the upward mobility towards their goal. One example is artificial intelligence has helped researchers predict which chemical combinations and ideas could help produce car batteries and found 4 promising options for testing in real life setting where researchers have missed out on.

To sum up everything that has been said, the huge advancements in technology has its banes as younglings perceive it as an easy getaway to free answers without any knowledge on how to work towards it. However, if used right, technology can help humanity advance further as it provides beneficial insights and builds the foundation for ideas and creativity that people have missed out on

• personally i would consider vacation as a time to focus on self improvement and a chance to figure out the next steps to take.

I think that the vacation given to students is long enough as i had time to work, learn a new skill and explore new places

However, I refused to let negativity consume me. Instead, I focused on maintaining a positive attitude and persevering through the setbacks. I reminded myself that each rejection was not a reflection of my worth but rather an opportunity to learn and grow.

I continued networking, refining my resume, and honing my interview skills. Every rejection letter served as motivation to work even harder. Finally, after months of persistence, I received an offer for the course I’ve dreamt of joining.

Looking back, I realized that my positive attitude played a crucial role in my success. It kept me motivated during the darkest moments and helped me maintain confidence in my abilities. I learned that succeeding in life isn't just about having the right qualifications; it's also about having the resilience and optimism to overcome obstacles and seize opportunities.

Have you ever listened in on a conversation, and realized how much one person can reveal about themselves? More often than not, most people don’t realize how they speak can reveal much about themselves.

However, I feel that we do reveal a lot of ourselves when we speak.

Thus, I think that As our personality, our family background, and even our friendgroup, can be determined through the way we speak.

• be more comfortable in it in the future and gain side income and hustle.

•For example, I worked at unity for about 2 months. I learned a lot from working there. The people i met there were nice.

From the revenue i made, i was able to save it so that i can use it for my future. I also learned many things from my boss who thought me how a business works.

Working there for the two months was the best thing i could have done with my free time.

•This can help me understand a foreign country's language.

•For example, i learnt Portuguese on an app called duolingo.

•It helps me learn basic greetings and interactions.

• so in the future if i visit Portugal, i can use this skill to interact with citizens of Portugal.

It helps me distress and relax my mind after exams or a heavy workload from school.

An example is going to pulau ubin to do mountain biking with my friends, we would go in the morning at around 7am, and start trekking on the trail.

It helps me to ease my mind and to change my mindset as i enjoy the scenic beauty along the coast of the island.

This will help me have less stress and to have a better mindset when vacations are over, to allow me focus better on my studies.

E+E:  When the child is still young, the child would not have the capacity to have their own opinions, thus the child would view their parents as their role models. One example can be shown with what language they use. Such as if the child is raised in a household that does not curse, but tries to create a positive environment, which allows clear communication with one another and recognizes and celebrate everybody's achievements. The child would tend to not curse as they would be influenced by the sort of environment they have at home, making them feel that there is no need for cursing. However, if the child grows up in a family that does curse in their daily life. Not only but their household has poor communication, with a rigid dynamic. This could lead the child to be negative and have a poor choice of language, such as saying vulgarities and using violent language. 

L: As kids then to think of their parents as role model, they tend to pick up good and bad habits from their parents. The way we speak can tell others about our family household environment we have and the values our family taught us.

E+E: One example can be the tone we use when communicating with others. When one is able to speak in a frank manner and in measured tones when communicating with others. Or they are able to be clear and articulate their words when speaking. It would be able to tell that they are someone who is confident and knows what their objective is. However, if one mumbles up their words when talking or presenting in front of others. Or if they hesitate and stutter as they struggle to find the right words to say. This could be seen as unassertive and someone who gets easily anxious. 

L: Thus, these examples could show how one's way of tone when trying to communicate with others, one would be able to tell about their personality from how they speak.

E: One example that could determine this is the style of speech that we adopt from our friends when speaking with our peers.

E: We usually adopt small little habits from our friends on how they speak. Such as the use of vocabulary, use of grammar, and even our pronunciation. These aspects can be evident in how we speak, whether it be the way we speak using either Singlish or proper English. If our friend groups frequently use slang, we will also get deeply influenced and use much of it in our daily life when communicating with others. This will determine how we phrase our sentences, whether it is grammatically correct or not. And even how We might pronounce certain words the same way, as we might be influenced by our friends. This can show what type of friends you are hanging out with too.

L: Some may even quote This as “ birds of a feather flock together” This could highlight that how we speak could be linguistically influenced by our social circle and can shape our use of certain speech patterns.
