I started learning English at 9 years old, I didn't really like it at the time. But when I was 11 I heard a One Direction song for the first time on the radio and I really wanted to know what they were saying. I would translate the lyrics of every song. That's how I fell in love with the language.

I enjoy singing (as a hobby) and some day I'd like to learn how to properly perfect the skill. I love reading, mostly the classics, if I could I'd spend all day reading!

I’m 25 and I was born and raised in Chaco but moved to Córdoba Capital 7 years ago. At the beginning, I was pursuing this same Bachelor’s Degree in the National University of Córdoba at the School of Languages, though after a few years I decided it was taking me nowhere and that I needed a brand new start. So here I am, starting all over again.

Apart from my career path, these are some facts about me:

• I live with my emotional support dog named Inder. For sure you’ll be seeing him a lot in class because he is either on top of me or in front of the computer to see what's going on, jaja.

• I’ve been working as an English-Spanish translator for a few years now and nearly 3 yr as an interpreter, specializing in medical interpretation. Have you ever heard about the saying “find a job that you love and you will never work a day in your life”? Well, that can sum up—at least, a little— how much I enjoy my job!

• I’m very passionate about the world of motorsport, particularly Formula 1; the makeup and beauty industry and I also own a scented soy candles brand.

I discovered my love for English when I was really young, listening to bands and artists, and in my teens, I decided to start studying it and improving my skills.

I studied cosmetology, and last year I finished my training as a Cabin Crew Member.

I've always been passionate about traveling and exploring new places. My name is Mariana Ledesma, I´m 19 years old and I´m from Santiago del Estero. I live with my family and my 3 beautiful dogs, which I love sooo much.

I practice figure skating and I also help as a teacher. I go to the gym and watch a lot of movies of any kind. I absolutely love music, especially my pop girlies like Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Britney Spears, etc. I love sports too, besides the figure skating, I watch soccer and Formula 1, if a sports is in TV, I´ll watch it.

My name is Maya Gabrovska. I’m a student at ESLE (Profesorado de Inglés). 

I am from Bulgaria and I am 52 years old. I’ve been living in Mendoza, Argentina for about 20 years. 

I have a degree in midwifery and digital fashion design. 

In the beginning of the century, I worked as a midwife in the UAE, six years before coming to Argentina. After I learned Spanish, I worked in a winery here in Mendoza, and I have also been working as a textile artist and designer, taking part in several art and fashion events. 

I enjoy working with natural fibers, using several felt techniques to create art pieces or garments.

I decided to enroll myself in this exciting journey of studying to become an English teacher because of the opportunities I have to teach in some remote places in the country where authorities require a teacher's degree. Of course, I also expect to improve my English.

I´ve been studied english for 12 years, since I have six years old, and two years ago I took FCE, one year before high school prom. I finished my studies in a business orientation school, which gave me a business management technician degree, and thankfully let me the opportunity to work in two local companies in my city.

I decided to study this career, because english is something that I´ve always handle easily and I´m really interested in the jobs that this degree offer to people, personally I love everything about audiovisual translation and dubbing, because another of my passions are cinema, music, and music theater. My name is Esteban E. Monzón, and I’m 39 years old.  I'm excited to join this group and looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals who share similar interests.

Professionally, I'm a teacher and a licentiate in English based in Resistencia, Chaco, Argentina. I hold a Master's degree in Education Management, in Applied Linguistics for Teaching English as a Foreign Language and another in Applied Linguistics for Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from UNEATLANTICO. Throughout my career, I've taught at various educational levels ranging from primary school to university, and I've worked with different organizations as a language trainer.

Beyond my professional life, I'm passionate about learning languages and expanding my horizons. When I'm not studying, I work full-time, which keeps me quite busy, but I always make time for my interests.  I enjoy playing paddle, watching films and travelling.

I'm pursuing a career as a translator because I want to gain a well-rounded and sound foundation in English from different perspectives. Translation work will provide me with comprehensive exposure to the language that goes beyond conventional learning methods, allowing me to engage with nuances, cultural contexts, and specialized terminology across various fields.

I’ve worked all sorts of odd jobs throughout my life until I stumbled upon a video game/digital content company looking for a translator. At first, it was just another job opportunity, but I soon realized that I actually love translating—and I had finally found my calling! The best part? I could finally put my English to good use!

So here I am, 32 and finally starting my university career (third time’s the charm!).

On my downtime I love to crochet, listen to music, watch reruns of Law & Order SVU, CSI (all of them), Criminal Minds, FRIENDS, & Supernatural, and read paranormal romances. I have also started to learn Portuguese with Duolingo, that's fun!

One thing about me is that I love reading, I fell in love with it at a very young age. I am 58, so I guess I am probably the oldest here.

I have been an English teacher in Mendoza for almost 40 years now and it is not within my plans to quit. However, I retired last year from DGE getting an academic tenure of 35 after teaching in all academic levels, including kindergarden.

Anyway, here I am, new goals, new challenges, excited about what's coming ahead.

My name is Eugenia Oliver, I enrolled in the distance-learning translation program after a little soul searching and I am excited to start this journey!

I’m 35 years old, married, blessed with two beautiful and energetic little boys. We live in Mendoza which I love except on summer (feels really long and it´s suffocatingly hot). I´m a kindergarten teacher, not currently working and absolutely in love with languages, especially English, so when I thought about making a change in my work life, choosing what to follow was a no brainer, especially giving the opportunity to develop my career from home and still being able to pursue a teaching job for tiny humans.

I met with foreign languages at age 3, my school had both English and German classes and I loved them dearly! I´ve always been drawn to learn more about English mostly (German is a little tedious but beautifully strong and sweet) I´m very curious, and what often catches my attention is the variety of expressions, dialects and the differences in pronouncing are really fun for me to explore.

In my free time and in any second available (with remaining energy of course), I very much enjoy reading, drawing,  learning new skills and baking! Oh, and remodeling my house in my head or on paper making use and abuse of Pinterest hehe!

Alright, here we go... I was born in San Jorge, in the province of Santa Fe, Argentina. But about seven years ago, I left my amazing country and my humid province to explore the world, learn about different cultures, and travel as much as possible. I spent all my savings, tasted delicious food, cried a lot—sometimes out of happiness, sometimes out of sadness, or simply because an existential crisis hit and turned my life upside down in a second.

I love life, adventure, discovering new things, and, most of all, sharing all of that with people who vibrate at the same energy. Those are the best experiences and memories someone can keep in their mind forever.

Currently, I'm living in Perth, Australia, and working as a trade assistant. My job involves applying publicity stickers at bus and train stations, as well as on buses themselves (or as we say in our slang, ploteado).

Given all this, I finally decided—haha—to study something I truly love, something that is meaningful to me: becoming a translator. First, because I love languages (I also speak Italian), and second, because of an experience I had in Neuquén that completely changed my mindset.

I helped a German tourist who was traveling with very basic Spanish. I noticed he was struggling to express his question, so I stepped in to help him. That moment was one of the most fulfilling things I’ve ever felt—it was like a small voice inside me said, This is your path: helping others express themselves through translation.

That’s a little piece of my story! I hope you're all doing great and having a fantastic year.

I'm Jimena, I'm 25 years old, and I'm from Posadas, Misiones, Argentina.

I started “studying” English in kindergarten at the age of 3 — my parents enrolled me in the only school that offered English at the time (you know... first-time parent things 🙄). Then I changed schools and didn’t have English classes for about a year when I was 7. From ages 8 to 14, I went to an English institute. I kind of liked it... but to be honest, it was more my parents’ choice than mine.

When I was 17, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life (who does at that age? 😅). Since I was pretty good at English, I went for the “safe” plan and enrolled in the Tecnicatura en Traducción e Interpretación en Inglés at UCAMI, here in the city.

At that time, I was dealing with a lot. I had been diagnosed with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder — yeah, pretty "common" nowadays), and I really didn’t know how to manage it. I felt stuck — I didn’t want to quit, but I wasn’t making progress either. Eventually, I reached a point where I wasn’t feeling well at all, and a specific subject/professor really wasn’t helping, so I decided to drop out. Honestly, besides my health, I never really liked the structure of the course.

But now... I feel great 😊 and I genuinely love all the subjects in this program. I’m excited about the topics we’re covering, and I also love that I don’t have to waste time, energy, or money on buses or Ubers to attend class 🙌.

Now, a bit about me outside of academics:
I’ve lived in the same house with my family forever. I consider myself a social introvert — I enjoy calm, peaceful environments, and I love sweet things 🍰. During my teens, I practiced a lot of martial arts, and I plan to go back to it because I really admire the discipline and philosophy behind it 🥋.

Also… I have a baby named Otto 🐶 — he’s my 3-year-old Cocker Spaniel, and he’s probably going to “attend” some classes too since he refuses to leave my side 😂.

My name is Alfredo, I'm 29 years old and originally from Viedma, Río Negro. I recently moved to Mendoza with my partner and I love it here. The only thing I dislike from Mendoza is the summer's heat, but when the really hot days begin, I travel south to my flat in Viedma to run away from the heat.

I'm an IT professional with 7 years of work experience and graduated last year only to find out that this field is not for me. The only thing I like about my job is that I can speak in English with my coworkers, since most of them are from England.

I have always liked foreign languages; since I was a kid, I enjoyed listening to other people talk in another language and I would always think "how cool would it be if I could speak like that".

I'm a self-taught English learner, until a few years ago I took some lessons to prepare for the Cambridge FCE exam.

Aside from English, I study German and Japanese. The thing I really like about learning new languages is how you also learn about the culture, and that's very interesting.

After finishing secondary school, I enrolled in a Tourism course, but after some years, I realized it wasn't what I wanted for my near future. During 2023 I studied Musical Theater, and although I really loved it, I decided to embark on the English teaching world.

In addition, I worked for US-based companies from 2021 to 2024, mainly as a Customer Service/Customer Success agent. Last year, I started providing English online lessons, and in February of this year, I was hired at an English Institute near my hometown!

My name is Dolores Zapata, and I am nineteen years old. I was born and raised in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.

I've been learning English since I was four, and I'm excited about continuing my studies to master the language! Alongside this career, I'm also studying Tourism at my city's university. Some of my hobbies include baking pastries and dancing ballet.

I really love learning about different topics, but one of my passions is language learning. I´d like to speak several languages fluently, so that´s why I am focused on language learning and this year I am gonna spend my days learning and improving more about languages, since last year I dropped out of the translation program because I was learning learning a lot about automotive mechanic.

I am really happy to start over and have everything organized to achieve my goals and level up all my languages.

I’m 26 years old and I had completed 32 subjects in the English Teaching Program at the National University of Cuyo. However, at some point, I had to pause my studies to focus on work. Then, once I moved to Ireland, continuing the same program became impossible since it’s fully in-person and I don’t have a return date to Argentina yet.

That’s why I decided to start over and pursue my teaching degree online through ESLE. My goal hasn’t changed — I’m still passionate about teaching, and I truly want to become a certified English teacher. Being here has only made that desire stronger.

I’ve been studying English since I was six years old, as I attended a bilingual school. From that early age, I began taking international exams through Trinity, Cambridge, and Anglia. You could say my passion—especially for this language—started in childhood.

When it comes to teaching, I truly enjoy the idea of sharing knowledge and helping others grow. I believe it’s incredibly meaningful to guide and support others in their learning journey, to help them discover new paths and expand their understanding. I would love to experience that firsthand.

That’s why I’m genuinely excited about this new chapter, pursuing what I’ve always dreamed of—especially with the support of my classmates and professors.

I started my English journey when I was 9-10 years old but I could start taking classes when I was 12 at ISEL, an English Institute here in my city. I studied some years there and took PET and FCE exams. (Plot twist: now I’m working there as a teacher)

Then, in 2022, I graduated as an English Teacher at IES Juan Mantovani (Chaco) and since last year, I had a Bachelor’s Degree in English which I took it in this amazing university (UDA-Mendoza).

This is a picture of my grandparents and me who I love soo much. They’re my world. I really like doing a lot of things such as reading romantic and fiction books, listening to all genres of music, going to the gym and dance but I don’t do it well.

I'm currently working as an English teacher in a kindergarten. I really enjoy my job! Kids are fascinating in many ways.

I realized when I was studying the teaching course that I'm passionate not only about the English language, but also about other languages. I studied Japanese a year ago and I really loved it. Now I'm studying Portuguese on my own. I love learning new languages and discovering different cultures.

My name is Paula, and I’m 28 years old. I’m from Quilmes, a beautiful city in the southern part of Buenos Aires province, where I’ve lived since I was born.

My journey with English began at a very young age. I attended various language institutes and quickly fell in love with the language. That passion led me to pursue a career in teaching, and in 2020, amidst the pandemic, I graduated as an English teacher. Since then, I’ve been working in primary and secondary schools, as well as in private institutes and companies.

However, in recent years, teaching has become increasingly challenging, which made me consider expanding my professional path. Since English has always been my passion, becoming a translator seemed like the perfect choice. And here I am, ready for this new adventure!

I was always interested in English and since I was a child, so this career is perfect for me (think so).

In me free time i love spent time with my friends, watch series and movies, listen music (My favorite singer is Feid💚) and cook.

My name is Camila Navarro and I'm 23 years old. I'm from Añatuya, a small city/town in Santiago del Estero and currently I'm living with my sister in the capital city of our province.

Relevant things about me might be: I have two siblings and I'm the oldest; I used to be a med student but dropped out after finishing my second year in 2022; I'm currently working as an English tutor of sorts from home and after careful consideration decided this translation program is the best option for me. Hope it turns out OK!

What am I passionate about? Definitely reading. I love reading webnovels novels, manga, formal novels and similar a lot. All my - and not so- free time goes to reading! A little obsession of mine.

The things that I love doing is most of the time related to psychology, philosophy and English, I really adore learning topics about philosophers and psychologists – I’m trying to fill a library of only philosophy books and other collections. I also enjoy knowing about different languages, their culture and being able to use them freely.

Considering that I’ve been studying English my whole life, at some point I noticed that teaching to others was something that I adore doing. After realizing this, I began studying topics that would help teaching easier – from universities, courses and things that I found on my own.
