A time I made a fool of myself was over spring break. I had planned for a friend to come over to hang out. I told him to come at 1 o'clock because that morning I was shopping with my mom. In her car there is a clock that is really hard to change so in my mind I thought that she still had not changed the time to match with daylight savings. At 12:30, I thought 11:30, I told him that we were almost done and he could come over a bit earlier. My mom was skeptical and I still, even with her trying to tel me thought it was 11:30 not 12:30. Then he texted me he was at my house and I realized my mistake. We ended up picking him up to shop a bit more, I felt really bad.

1) One time in my old school I really didn't like a certain class even though I really admired the teacher and he respected me and my usual hard work. It was a metal shop/welding class so we had to be at least a little physically capable to work in it. I ran cross country often and during allergy season the gasses and debris were always making me cough in the shop, so he sent me to the nurse office. Eventually I realized I didn't like the class anyways and since the nurse liked when I visited she let me stay even when I wasn't sick. 20 excused absences later, my shop teacher found out what I was doing from one of his other students; he didn't stop me or report me because he understood the situation but I lost a lot of his respect.

#2 - When I was in middle school, the whole 6th grade went to the Alliance Redwoods science camp. We learned about the redwoods in a fun way. My group was doing an activity where we had to climb a wooden pole and jump off of it and try to hit a rubber ball that was hanging off a rope. We wore gear and a rope was attached to us. Many of my friends had already gone, so it was my turn...I was excited to go, but when I got to the top of the pole, my heart stopped. I was freaking out. The leader of our group tried to calm me down and say to just focus on the ball. I could have either taken the risk or lose the chance. I took the risk and jumped...

#1 - When I was in elementary school back in the Philippines, I had a best friend who was better than me at everything academics, sports, and playing the instruments. My parents, especially my mother, took a liking to her she always compared me to her and that hurt my self-esteem. So I decided to be like her, I tried to play the violin which I hated, I tried to take Chinese lessons, I tried to be like her in every single way possible. But even after all that effort my mother didn't think it was good enough, she said that it wasn't enough for her. So in a way I let her down, but really I think whatever I do, no matter how hard I work, I will never be good enough for her. Honestly it wasn't really worth it in the end, I didn't know who I was and I always compared myself to others, I ended up being unhappy with myself.

My friend was really sad that day, I felt bad and I knew that I let them down. I told them that it was unexpected that I wasn't able to go and visit them, the reason why I wasn't able to go was because my vehicle wasn't working.

2) I grew up loving to sing. I never knew I would be singing in front of many people a couple times a month. When I was in 7th grade I joined our church's worship team, but I wasn't, I wasn't I guess you can say that good at singing at that time. When I became a freshman in high school, I was more involved with the worship team, but again I didn't sing very good. One day, my friend who was leading worship asked me if I wanted to sing a solo because she can't hit the note. I was incredibly nervous and wanted to say no, but I knew that she needed help so I had to take the risk of probably sounding bad just so that I can help her. It turned out not as bad as I had thought. I think this situation helped me overcome my shyness and my fear for standing and singing in front of people.

A time where I made a fool of myself was actually a few times. A few years ago when I would go biking with my uncle I had fallen and fell on my knee, this had happened a few times. It was pretty embarrassing and it was even more embarrassing when I had built up a reputation for falling. My family always made fun of me and my uncle was always thinking I was going to fall. The worst thing about this is that recently I started riding again and fell and cut up my arm, my dad was pretty upset about it. Then about a week later I had crashed into a chain link fence and busted my face up, I thought it was pretty funny but my dad didn't. And It's not like I'm not good at riding a bike, I got pretty good at handling my bike, it was just the situations I was in where I was able to crash.

1) Ever since I was little, I had a talent to sing and my whole family wanted me to become a singer. When I was 10, I went to a music school for two years and there, I was in a choir and I studied piano and music theory. At first, I enjoyed it very much. I loved my teachers and my class mates. My family was very pleased with me. After some time I realized I wasn't that happy. I started to realize that this was more what my family wanted, not me. I finally decided to tell my parents. They where disappointed, but telling my parent wasn't the hard part, telling my grandparents was. My grandpa is a singer, thats why my family was so happy that I got his talent because they wanted me to preform with him. When he found out that I didn't want to pursue my music, the disappointment and sadness in his eyes was unbearable. Of course he was gonna love me no matter what but the fact that I had disappointed him hurt me terribly.

For what reason I don’t but the night before we were practicing our talent and it was going great. The next morning I get up and we’re running late so we get to school and there was stair that everyone has to take to get in and I went from the first top step to that last step in literally three seconds. I fell on my face so hard and I also sprained my ankle in front of the whole school. So as a 7 year old girl that was just horrible. Looking back it’s really funny though not that big of deal. Haha. The good thing though was that I ended up not doing the talent show so that worked out.

I took a few days off from practice to relax my knee. I practiced pretty often but very carefully. The day of the competition my knee started to hurt. I did not end up telling anyone because they would say that I could not compete. It was my turn to skate and I was already in so much pain. I was doing so well until the final I jumped. I landed wrong and my knee locked. I ended my performance and wanted to cry so bad. We went to the doctors and they told me I can no longer compete anymore. It was a huge risk that I took, but I am glad I did it.

As a kid I was very shy and didn't socialize much with my other class mates I usually stuck with my two close friends. when I saw the flyers for the talent show I was really interested in participating but I also didn't want to put myself out there. I ended up signing up for a spot in the show and I sang a song because I've always loved music. I remember feeling so nervous walking up on the stage but when started to preform I lost all my nervousness and enjoyed myself on the stage. Now when I go on stage or talk in front of people I don't get nervous or scared. Doing the talent show opened a new part of me so I'm glad I took that risk of stepping out of mu comfort zone.

I was riding my little brothers bike (a risk in itself because he doesn't want me to), and I just learned how to "bunny hop". After a couple minutes of hopping around the yard, I decided to try and jump over things. (you can probably tell where this is going). I was doing great jumping over objects a couple inches high. Then I had an idea. I decided to try and clear a log almost 2 feet in the air! (keep in mind i just learned how to jump over things like 5 minutes ago). I start tearing down the yard as fast as I could. I cleared my front wheel, but my back wheel didn't. It got caught on the log and I flew over my bike. after I landed (on my face) my bike fell on top of me!

2&1) When I was about seven, I decided to climb a tree. I saw my friend make her way up it and then swing off the extended branch, I thought it looked like fun. I decided to make my way up and try it too. Little did I know, when I would jump off the tree to swing on the branch it would all go downhill, literally. I ended up falling on a root that was below the tree weaved in the grass, rolling down the little hill. As a result, I had broken my arm for the third time. Then, I promised I would let my friend sign my cast first since she was with me when it happened. Her dad drove her to my school so that she could sign it. When she got there, all my other friends had already written their names. So technically, I took a risk and let down a friend in one story.

The last portion of the decathlon is a SuperQuiz where I was with two other members of my team and we were to answer the questions on the projector screen in under 10 seconds. One such question came up and I thought I might know the answer, I asked my team mates for reassurance, but they did not know if I was right or not. They asked if we should all answer differently for the chance that one of us might be right, or if I knew the answer for all of us to get it right. I knew that I had studied the materiel and so we all answered correctly. Studying pays off!

2. I was given the task of running to the store to buy groceries one day. The market was relatively far, so I decided to take my bike. The thing was though, I didn't have my bike lock and it was nowhere to be found. So I rolled the dice and I went without the lock. I parked my bike and got the groceries I needed (which took about 20 minutes) and when I went to get my bike, to my surprise, it was still there!

#2
It was May 19 2018. I recently just got out of an incredibly toxic friendship where I was constantly being put down. It was a Saturday and I was playing keyboard for the women's conference that was happening that day. I finished playing and just wanted to go home. I didn't know who I was going to be with. But I decided to stay. All the moms and older women stayed down stairs and all the young women and teenagers went upstairs. I was a little behind and ended up coming a few minutes late. My sister sat down at a table that was all the way in the front. I didn't want to walk all the way there in front of everyone so I quickly glanced around and found a table more to the back where a girl that I haven't seen before was sitting. I made some small talk and thought that was it, but we instantly clicked! Later we exchanged snapchats and ended up hanging out the entire day. Now in a month it will be a year since we met, and we talk every single day and have hung out over 50 times. So thats the best risk I've ever taken.

A time I took a risk was when I joined a sports team for the first time. This was taking a risk of failing. It's great to take risks because sometimes you can discover talents you might not have discovered if you hadn't taken that risk. By me taking this risk I found something I really enjoyed doing. Take risks in life you never know where it may lead you.

1) One of my bestfriends had a really bad boyfriend how was cheating on her. When I found out I didn't tell her right away because she seemed so happy. One day she asked me if I knew anything that was going on with her boyfriend and I told her no. a couple days later I told her about her boyfriend cheating and she got really mad at me and decided that it was best if we weren't friends.

1) My whole life i've been struggling with stomach issues and anxiety. Sometimes this has taken control of my life and prevented me from doing many things. My best friend has had to deal with me and these issues for 11-12 years, so he understands how this affects me. But I've let him down on countless occasions, I can't really remember all of them, But I know I've ruined many fun times because of these problems.

2. Everyday people take risks, but this one time me and friend were hungry late at night and everyone was in bed already. I decided to take a risk and take my mom's car to In N Out. This was a major risk risk because neither of us had our license or permit. Luckily, I was a good driver and didn't get pulled over.

1. On my 13th birthday, me and my siblings were playing a game that involved us running around the house and my mom told us to stop, but we didn't. Somebody fell backwards and knocked something over that was important to my mom. Of course she got mad, I knew I let my mom down and I felt really bad about what happened.
