Women's History Month is March so to celebrate that wonderful month, the class will be learning about the progression of women through history through these images then we will also look at the historical facts and narratives that we will be reading in class with our Social Studies lessons. The students will be learning about empowerment, success, and achievement. The students will have time to dive into and explore these images and be creative with different aspects of art. All of these images are connected to the central theme of: Women's History, but especially the empowerment of women and all people. There are some socioemotional lesson ideas scattered through these images that would serve as a way for students to learn about the historical material of women, but also that everyone is DIFFERENT, everyone is UNIQUE, and everyone has the ability to do amazing things with their lives.

The image of 2005, otherwise known as Sierra, is an image that I would use at the beginning of the school year and hopefully the beginning of the lesson to have the students explore characteristics that make them, them. I would as the teacher take pictures of the students (in a perfect world it would be with a polaroid camera, but a digital camera or iPad camera would work as well) then have the students write about themselves outside of the image whether it be things that they enjoy, their favorite color, their favorite book, or that they have a sister, everything is encouraged and anything is welcome!
