         <description><![CDATA[<div>In<em> Extreme perception and animal intelligence </em>authors<em> </em>Temple Gradin and Catherine Johnson explain how certain animals are capable of acquiring skills without any human help. The main problem is how to explain that these animals are capable of doing what they do . Maybe it is a real demonstration of intelligence by them, or perhaps they are capable of perceiving gestures or moves that we do and have a response to them.<br><br>Dogs are one example, they have the capacity of smelling or sensing things that we can´t and thay have found a use to this habilities .These things don´t make us less or smarter than them, it just means that we are different. Some dogs have invented jobs for themselves that show their highly developed perception skills. Seizure alert dogs are for example.<br><br>Seizure alert dogs, according to their owners, are capable of predicting a seizure before ir starts. People have tried to train&nbsp; dogs to acquire this hability, but it didn´t worked out. Dogs can be trained on&nbsp; what to do in case a seizure starts, for example, they lie on top of the owner or hand them their medicines or telephone. On the other hand, some dogs have the ability to predict a seizure before it starts. No one knows how they do it, but 10 percent of owners of seizure alert dogs say that they turned into seizure alert dogs. In fact, a woman named Connie Standley says that her dogs have predicted at least 80 percent of her seizure attacks thirty minutes ahead of time, they do things like pull on her clothes or bark at her.<br><br>Clever Hans, who was a famous german horse in the 1990s, the owner of this horse thought that Clever Hans was able to count. This was because people would ask mathematical questions and Clever Hans tapped the answer with his hoof. But this case was solved by Dr. Oslar Pfungst, he managed to show that Hans was able to stop tapping when he saw tiny gestures or movements made by people around him. He discovered this when he kept people in other room while asking Hans the questions. Psychologists often use this example to show that people that believes animals are intelligent are deluding themselves.<br><br>No human been has ever trained succesfully&nbsp; a dog to predict seizures or a horse to count.&nbsp; What makes the action of both these animals signs of high intelligence is the fact that they didn´t have to do what they did. It happens the same with humans, we use our perceptual and cognitive skills to solve different problems, and sometimes, to achieve goals that remain in time.<br><br><br>In conclusion,the similarity between these two animals is that they haven´t been trained by a human to acquire these skills, they developed them by themselves. And this demonstrates that humans and animals have different hablities.<br><br><br><br><br></div><div><br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. When we analyze the way animals behave we look at human traits, and that is a difficulty. On the other hand, some things that look smart for us don´t need to be considered that way in animal kingdom.<br><br>2.Bockman states that communication between humans is strongly connected to human intelligence. He also explains that we can´t say or quantify how smart animals are without being able to communicate with them.<br><br>3. There are a lot of investigations about neural circuitry in the brains of different species and how different they are. This has been very helpful to demonstrate that some qualities of our intelligence exist in other species and it helps at the moment of settling differences.</div>]]></description>
