The collaborative options Padlet offers, makes it ideal for both synchronous and asynchronous learning. Students can contribute notes, videos, voice, links, artifacts, and so much more to one virtual board. These choices allow for differentiation for all levels of learners. Presenting information in varying formats increases student engagement and allows for diversity and creativity. For project based learning, Padlet can help students organize thoughts and ideas as well as links to information. After reading poetry, students can use Padlet to discuss it and even write their own (TeachThought, 2022). It can also be used to publish conclusions. It aligns to ISTE Standards Digital Citizen by requiring students to communicate respectfully with one another and Global Collaborator by allowing students to collaborate with peers (ISTE Standards for Students, 2017).

Canva is an excellent design tool to use for PBL activities. The variety of choices allow learners to creatively customize artifacts that represent their understand and skill development. Because of it's sharing abilities students can collaborate instantly, which makes it ideal for both synchronous and asynchronous learning environments. An example of how it can be used for PBL is to create a poster of the evolution of human civil rights or to create a tri fold brochure explaining how local businesses can increase environmental sustainability (TeachThought, 2022). Canva aligns best to ISTE Standard Creative Communicator because it allows students to leverage the use of technology to communicate complex ideas and create customized messages for intended audiences (ISTE Standards for Students, 2017).

Google for Education offers several tools that can be used collaboratively for PBL projects. All files in Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Drive are shareable and provide users with instant access to shared files. These application can be used synchronously, for example when using Google Meet or Hangouts, students can video chat or text. It also can be used asynchronously when student contribute to and curate artifacts for projects. Teachers can monitor progress and provide real time feedback to all shared files. The vast options each application has, for example, Google Slides, allow users to creatively personalize their learning experience. For example when students discuss the impact abiotic factors have on their local environment, students can use Google Meet to discuss topics, they can document research using Google Docs, they can make graphs using Google Sheets, and they can submit it to Google Classroom so that the teacher can provide feedback. This platform offers something that can align to most ISTE Standards. The ones that standout are Empowered Learner because it allows them to build networks to customize learning, Knowledge Constructor because students can use a variety of tools to create artifacts, and Global Collaborator because students can use these tools to collaborate with peers and experts (ISTE Standards for Students, 2017).
