Theme of the pearl: Wealth DOES NOT solve your problems. Always make the right decisions for your family over everything else.

Theme of the poem: Always make the decision that you feel is right for you. Even if nobody else makes that decision, make it anyway, because you are unique.

Similarities: These pieces of literature both involve decision making.

Theme of The Pearl:
I found the theme make the right decision. The wrong decision might be the right decision, and the right decision might be the wrong decision. You have to choose carefully. Kino thought that keeping the pearl and selling it was the right decision, but it turned out to be the wrong decision. The wrong decision caused Coyotito's death If Kino took the actual right decision which was to get rid of the pearl Coyotito wouldn't have died. Kino really should've listened to his wife Juana. Kino learned from his decision. His wrong decision was greed. His greed resulted other people to have greed for the pearl. Those people were the hunters.

If you take a path it might lead you to good or bad. If you strive to get what you want to succeed. In the story they strived to get the pearl. The connection I see is trying to make the right decisions in life.

The theme of the poem we read was about choosing a choice that effects your life, positively or negatively. The poem had a lot in common with the pearl: there were choices offered that could effect your life and it could end in failure or prospering. Kino was given a choice that effected his family. He was mentally given a choice of effecting his family positively or negatively. He made his choice greedily, resulting in greed and Coyotito dying.

The theme of the poem is darkness. The theme of The pearl is mixed with happiness and sadness. I feel like Coyotito could have lived. It was the mothers fault. She insisted that Kino came with her. It could have bean Kino. If I could change I would.

If you choose the Wrong path you will learn from it.
The theme of the Pearl is Happiness does not come from wealth. If you get greedy you can end up destroying your life like it did to Kino's.

The theme of the Pearl: I think the theme is making right or wrong decisions that can effect your life in many different ways. In the pearl if Kino never found the pearl and kept it it made a lot of people hurt and die. Kino kept it and Coyotitio yet died from all the drama that it caused. Then after they threw it back in the water. In this poem it talked about choosing two roads witch is just like the pearl. You can choose good or bad. Sometimes good can also be bad and bad can also be good.
