         <description><![CDATA[<p>Mitosis has four stages. The first stage is called prophase were the nuclear envelope breaks down. The second stage is metaphase where the sister chromatids meet at the center of the cell. The third stage is called anaphase where the chromatids go apart and go to opposite sides of the cells. The last stage is called telophase where the nuclear membrane is formed around the pair of chromosomes, then the the chromosomes uncoil. </p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <title>Key Stages</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Meiosis contains eight stages. The first stage of meiosis is prophase one. During this stage the homologous chromosomes pair up, synapse, and exchange genetic information through crossing over.&nbsp;The second stage is metaphase one. This is when the homologous chromosome gets together with another along the equator of the cell which are attached to spindle fibers.&nbsp;The next stage is anaphase 1, this stage is when the homologous chromosomes come apart and get pulled to opposite poles of the cell.&nbsp;Stage four is telophase 1 and cytokinesis 1. During this stage the nuclear membranes mend around the separated chromosomes. Then the cell divides into two haploid daughter cells.&nbsp;During prophase 2 is when chromosomes compress more. After prophase 2 is metaphase 2. This is when the sister chromatids meet up along the equator of each cell. The next stage is anaphase 2. This  is when the sister chromatids break apart and get pulled to opposite poles.&nbsp;During telophase 2 and cytokinesis 2 the nuclear membranes mend. Allowing the cells to divide again which produces four haploid gametes.&nbsp;</p>]]></description>
