         <description><![CDATA[<p>An E-portfolio is a tool that is an excellent way to view and reflect on one's learning. It is an organised, succint and presentable way to showcase students/teachers learning and progress.  It also complies with the message of 'going green' that we are portraying to students, this is a demonstration of putting our words into actions. <b>For thought:</b> In the future will students year of academic work be presented in a document, website or blog, rather than a box full of papers that gets put in the cupboard rarely touched again? How can you show all of the box's contents to your relatives on the other side of the world? Instead will we be able to send them an link that they can click on and view this work? </p>]]></description>

         <title>Assistive technologies</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Assistive technologies have the ability to cater for a range of learning needs. It is a teachers responsibility to create equal learning opportunity and assistive learning technologies can be used to do so. Teachers need to designate appropriate assistive technologies that specifically aid a learning need. Some students may respond differently to certain technologies. For example an app may be effective for one student with hearing impairment, thought it shouldn't be assumed that it will definatley be effective for <b>ALL</b> students with hearing impairments.  Evaluation and assessment of the assistive technology is essential to determine whether it is in fact assisting the students needs. </p>]]></description>
