To me, feeling like a "fish in a tree" is when you feel unnatural and incapable of doing something that is very easy for other people. I felt like a fish in a tree when I was younger and took gymnastics. We were expected to walk on a narrow, high balance beam and then do things like tumble on it. I was not very athletic or fit and didn't have the best balance. The idea of walking on the balance beam was scary enough but to tumble on it felt impossible. The other kids were mean to me and teased me about not being able to do it. Shortly afterwards, I quit. I felt so uncomfortable and sad when I took gymnastics- definitely a fish in a tree moment.

A fish in a tree moment is when I was doing a dance recital is when I forgot what to do. I turned my back and that is what I was supposed to do but then I rember what to do. But I turned my back for 2 min. So I was a step behind but then I just skipted 1 moved and counted up. And then i never what to do to a dance recital again. Now I do swimming. And that is good.

to me felling like a fish in a tree moment my friend and my sister can do a back bend kick over and i can't and there younger than me!!!!!!!! My sister is 6 and my friend is 8 but 4 months younger than me i feel so sad i can't do a back bend kick over but they can. But someday i really hope i can do it soon i been practicing and practicing but never getting it definitely a fish in a tree moment:(

To me a fish in a tree moment is when I started dancing.It was last year and I had just started dancing.I was in Hip Hop and Tumbling . Even though I was in the junior class, I felt like the kids in the lower class danced better than me .And, in Tumbling I felt like I could barely do anything. So, I no longer do Tumbling. That was my fish in a tree moment.

A fish in a tree moment was when I was 8. At my dance recital I forgot what to do. I had to do a cartwheel then a back walkover. Instead I did a front roll. I was so embarrassed!!! Good thing we had 2 shows because on the 2nd show I did it perfectly. I am now 11 and I am much better. I am actually in competitive dance at the same studio for 8 years and I am one of the best dancers there. Another fish in a tree moment was at cheer practice. My friend Mia was tumbling. She did a standing full!!! Everyone loved her. That day we had a free day and we got to do whatever we want. Everyone wanted to stunt and tumble with her and no one wanted to do anything with me. I tried to tumble and do what Mia did but I couldn't. I just sat down and did nothing. I felt like I couldn't cheer and I was horrible. Now I am one of the best cheerleaders there!!!!!!

To me a fish in a tree moment is when I started cheer-leading. I thought that I would be doing a level 2 team because I had been doing level 2 stuff in summer classes. Well, I was WRONG!!!!! On my first cheer class I asked my mom why we were there because the level 2 practices start at 6:00 and it was 5:00. She was so confused!!! b She said level 2? This is level 1!!!! I said I thought that I was a level 2 person!!! Then I realized that I was not a level 2!!!!! That was my fish in a tree moment

A fish in a tree moment for me was when I played dodge ball in P.E. I was the first to get hit and I never could hit any body. But I didn't feel bad because my friend would always cheer me up and soon I got better at dodge ball. Also since I got better at at dodge ball I was sometimes the last person standing.

My fish in a tree moment is when I had to learn a dance. I had to learn a dance for a parade and I started only 3 weeks before. The teacher knew my mom, and I had already danced 2 years before, so she knew I was a fast learner. When I first started, mostly everyone knew the dance but were messing up a little bit. There were only 2 girls who were my age. Most of the people were younger than me so I felt a little better because they messed up a lot. The teacher knew I would catch on so she just said to follow their lead. Still, I felt awkward trying to copy them, but soon enough I learned the whole thing in time!

Whenever I went to gym class as a child, I felt like a fish in a tree. Everyone seemed to understand how the games worked, but I stood around looking confused. I prayed that someone would just get me out so I could sit on the sidelines. I tried out for a few sports but always felt rotten that I would be the last one picked or that people would make fun of me by saying they hoped they didn't have me on their side.

One of my fish in a tree moments happened when I was in 6th grade. My best friend Anne asked me to come play water polo. She told me it was so fun and easy. I could swim, but when I got there I realized this was more than I could handle. I got in and tried. I thought I was going to drown. I not only had to swim, I had to move a ball. It felt like everyone was trying to drown me! When I got out, I felt like Anne wouldn't be my friend. I wasn't anything like her. I didn't fit in her world. What was easy for her was impossible for me.

A time where I really felt like a "fish trying to climb a tree" was in fourth grade math class. Our teacher made us memorize our multiplication facts and I was not very good at math. What made matters worse, was that we had to recite them in front of THE WHOLE CLASS. I was so mortified and it took me many years to over that one moment in time. The task (at the time) felt so impossible for me, which gave me the worst feeling.

Performing in front of people has always been really hard for me, unless I am playing a sport. But every year, I have gotten out there and participated because I know how much the students love it.
