We will be recoding this footage for the production on Monday the 16th of January  and have time to still professionally edit the music video. This means that the music video will be still finished on time even though we have passed the deadline. 

Glad the group is getting on well just wish dan didn't have to work as we could record on the study days but if we want to Jamie or another member of the group will take over filming as Dan due to work, won't be present. 

Hoping also for a good final video, and hoping the final video was worth having all the setbacks

the new skills I learnt were very vast, these included setting up tripods and different camera angles, making time-lapse for the music video, making sure that actors can be trusted and also be reliable, i learned this through personal experience. I also learned that making a costume with no budget (or time) is a lot harder to make as it said to be. 
the barriers that we encountered were our actors for the main and side scenes bottled our production on the night before filming so we ended up having to act through our own means. the music video also has limitations with items such as the costume that we did not have the time to make one, nor the budget to buy one so ours was made on the spot which was a very risky endeavour as building a costume from scratch on the spot within the hour was a very hard thing to do and was a lot easier said then done. we overcame the barriers by making the costume by our own means, which helped both cost and also time as we made a costume within the hour which meant we could continue the production without major hindrance. the other issue we also had was actors as they left the last minute and we could not get any replacement actors so instead we used our own production team to help film the scenes which was just as effective as using actors.

I have been working with the editor to help create a well flowing, and engaging music video that will be easy to watch. the music video is going well for editing of the final sections so far and will be ready for the screening of the music video. ]]> 2017-01-26 12:12:48 UTC https://padlet.com/cattonnathan427/ohhve4bztx5d/wish/149560558 cattonnathan427 https://padlet.com/cattonnathan427/ohhve4bztx5d/wish/151096915 I will discuss in this entry how my music video could be improved after feedback from the level 3 year 2 media students. the music video went well but the main issue brought up was that we ended up being more narrative than creative towards the music video. if i could redo the music video i would use a wider range of shots as the music video did not include many if at all interesting camera shots and this made the video quite bland to an audience. camera shots could be when the camera shows the bin when he throws the paper inside the bin, during the drawing shots for the costume multiple camera angles could've been used and this could've added a certain flair to the music video that other groups did not have. editing could have involved animations for the music video to make it more engaging to the audience. another thought that we could have used in the music video would be interesting camera angles and also filler shots. the next thing i would have done would be to more openly use this location to get better camera angles and cleaner shots. use lighting on set if needed. never say no to ideas that could be used. with the bridge at pennymead we could have created an overhead shot which may have been interesting to view. there was also a wide range of camera shots and angles that could have been exploited if i was given the chance to help direct the film again. also finally if i did the video again, I would use actors from media if people were willing to act as they are more reliable, and less likely to fail on you compared to real actors that could cancel anytime and many will be reluctant if not work without some sort of reward or payment. creativity is key. if the music video was as creative as it was narrative, this would have been a highly successful music video.  my production team performed exceptionally well, going through the rough of the issues we had with actors, they hardly if ever did not come in and i couldn't have made the video without my amazing team. if there was anything i would change about the team it would be to make sure nobody could be called on their phone when recoding a scene, as if the scene had sound and a phone rang this would cause the scene to be unusable. I am glad with the production team, they could not have been more better for me than any other group and i am glad with the final music video.
