Just as I was wondering privately why in the world something like my vocation would even come up, Colton surprised me when he nodded enthusiastically. 'Oh yes! Jesus said he went to Daddy and told him He wanted Daddy to be a pastor and Daddy said yes, and Jesus was really happy.' I just about fell out of my chair. That was true, and I vividly remember the night it happened (90-91)."

It really shocked both Todd and Sonja, but it also healed their pain of loss from losing their child as they now knew she's alright.

Todd answered by asking her if she believes that God loves him, in turn she answers yes, which then leads to if He loves Todd He also loves her too, which reassures her. 
"Well, if you believe God loves you as much as He loves me, and you believe He loves your living son as much as as He loves my living son, don't you believe He loves your unborn child as much as He loves mine?' Suddenly, the woman stopped trembling and smiled (146)."
