First Arabesque

This is a picture of me demonstrating the correct way to do Classical first arabesque. As you can see I am trying to stay square within my hips whilst using my turnout. To created the perfect alignment I must keep my shoulders square, my head in line with my front arm and and my focus should be up.
"The first step toward a great arabesque is learning what an arabesque is not: standing on one leg and kicking the other leg back as high as you can. A good ballet instructor will tell you that the quality of your arabesque will only improve as the quality of your technique improves. A perfect arabesque will serve as a reward for the dancer who works hard at the barre, concentrating on every aspect of every barre exercise." ("Learn How To Do A Perfect First Arabesque")

As you can see I am not rolling my feet in by using my turnout muscles and my knees are over my toes. My posture is straight and my pelvis is in line with my body. This is me demonstrating the Horton technique flat backs."The technique is dynamic and dramatic, develops both strength and flexibility, and works with an energy that is constantly in motion. As you can see from this video clean arms and footwork is essential, also to perfect the pirouettes they must pull up through there legs, spot there heads and used there back and core to control the turn.
