The Woman's Rights Movement was a huge moment in American History. It caused a huge change in the rights women now have. The main people that caused that change were Lucretia Mott and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. They felt that it was wrong that women had far less rights then men and felt a needed to make a change.

Mott and Stanton decided to host a national Woman's Rights Convention in New York to hopefully make a change in the rights that women have. At the convention they declared that they wanted to have a declaration of sentiments. The decorations declared that women should have equality at work, church, school, and the voting booth. They also got lots of the abolitionists to become active members which really helped to make it more public. Finally New York passed a law allowing women to keep property and wages. The women still had to fight for there rights until the voting law was passed in the 1820s. The women's rights movement was one of the most successful movements.

Public Education was a big deal in the 1800s. Before Horace Mann created public education not many Americans went to school. They either couldn't afford it or didn't have the transportation to get to school. Horace Mann wanted to make a change in the education system.

First, he served as the head of the state board of education in Massachusetts. He spoke to the citizens about why public schools would be very beneficial to the US. Under Mann's guidance the citizens of Massachusetts voted to pay taxes to build better schools, to pay higher salaries for teachers, and to open schools to train teachers. Then other States in America adopted public education. The education system still wasn't perfect few girls were able to got to school. Mann did what he could and was overall pretty successful in making the education system.
