I listened to the Swim Towards the Shark podcast, that told me what to do when you encounter a shark in a body of water. As a lifeguard you shouldn't swim into the shark even if someone is in need. Your first instinct is to call a supervisor for more help and wait till the supervisor gets there. This can insure the person in danger's safety where the supervisor has more knowledge on how make the situation as safe as possible.

I watched the cartoon about the five elements of drama by Ms. Alicia. I liked the cartoon because it introduced boring ideas in a fun way by using animations. The example of the protagonist and the antagonist really stood out to me. Ms. Alicia showed the protagonist as a big muscular guy and then listed their characteristics. Overall many other such animations made the cartoon fun to watch and made the vocab interesting to look at.

I watched the cartoon about the five elements of drama, created by Mrs. Alicia. I chose this video and not the others because I like to watch cartoons, and how Mrs. Alicia told me about role positions in a really fun way. I liked this cartoon as it helped me understand all kinds of vocabulary such as the protagonist, antagonist, side characters, and a few more. Mrs. Alicia explained what the antagonist and protagonist as well as the side characters are supposed to do. All of this combined made the cartoon fun with the animations and music behind the talking.

I read "dear Hogwarts". This was a letter written to Albus Dumbledore who is a professor at Hogwarts. The main idea of this text is to tell Dumbledore why she should be allowed into Hogwarts. This also reminded me of a sort of application into Hogwarts. She tells him about her experience as a self proclaimed which. She backs up her claim of being a witch by saying that she can make her dog levitate when she sneezes, but in reality she just jumps a little when she sneezes. She also thinks that she could be a witch because she says that she is the child of two muggles which in the fictional universe would allow her to be a witch.

I watched the five elements of drama cartoon, created by Mrs. Alicia. I chose this option because I am used to watching Ted Eds and listing to videos all the time in school, and this was an alternate option that seemed fun and different from what I normally do in school. I enjoyed this cartoon, I enjoyed it because it appealed to some strategy's of leaning that really work for me such as going step by step at a slow enough pace that I can comprehend all of the information that is being given to me but not so slow that I end up getting bored half way through the cartoon. It also had a lot of visuals to keep me engaged and interested throughout the whole cartoon. And to finish it off it had catchy background music that helped to keep my mind for wondering off before the cartoon was finished.

I read "How Does It Feel To Love" which was a short piece of writing. The main idea of this text is that love can be painful but worth it. It explains how love can hurt you but it can be the light found in a dark tunnel. It also described what love can feel like, what love can make you feel like. This piece was probably written to show the reader what love can truly be like- the good and the bad parts.

I watched Elements of Drama by Mrs. Alicea because I liked that it was a cartoon video. I chose this video rather than the Ted Talks because I often lose focus during those videos. And, I was more interested in this cartoon video instead of the video about non-fiction. I enjoyed watching this video because it wasn't a long video, so I wasn't spacing out, and instead I was focusing well. Also, I liked this video because it had cartoon drawings like stick figures and written words which made me more engaged.

I listened to "What makes a poem … a poem?" by Melissa Kovacs and was intrigued by the variety of different forms of poetry there are today. I also found out that the word poetry originally meant to create, which makes me think that in the past there may have been other things that were also considered poetry.

I listened to "Fueled by Frunchies" on the "Sleep With Me" podcast. The episodes on this podcast don't really have a main idea each episode is aimed more towards helping people who struggle with sleep to fall and stay asleep. They have people ramble about stories or just rambling in general and use different sound effects to help take your mind off of whatever it is keeping you awake and to instead make you think about the stories and audio affects to help you fall asleep and to help to soothe you.

I watched "Elements of Drama by Mrs. Alicea." I chose to watch this video instead of others because it sounded a little bit more interesting than some of the other options that were listed. I didn't really like it a lot as the topic ended up not being as interesting as I was expecting it to be. I also didn't like it because the background sound got really repetitive and I didn't like having to read everything on the screen. Having to read everything made it easier to engage and retain the information but also easier to fall behind if they moved on before you got a chance to finish reading what was on the screen. The cartoons that were displayed on the screen were pretty engaging and helped clarify what the words were saying, so I did like that part. I sometimes felt as though the music was a bit distracting at times.

"I read it just happened," by anonymous. The main idea was to never take things for granted. Just because the odds were that Emma would survive her cancer, it doesn't mean that she definitely will and in this story she sadly didn't survive. There was a smaller idea too, and that was that you shouldn't rely on what is more likely, because Emma had and 85% chance of living and a 15% percent chance of dying and the less likely outcome, was the outcome.

I read "SPLAT!" by Anonymous, and the main idea of the short story was about a girl who was at basketball practice and the ball hits her head and she blacks out. While blacked out she was in a room with no people but many different kinds of foods, drinks and toys, there was also a screen with a game called "Shell Shockers" on it, she played for about what felt like 15 minuets then the screen dissolved. She opened her eyes and saw a group of blurry people over her and it was her teammates, they tell her what happened and ask if she's okay and she says she's okay.

I listened to "The Mortified Podcast", a podcast where grown-ups share embarrassing things they made when they were a kid like diaries or imaginary friends. One thing I learned from this podcast was that just because something seems strange to you it doesn't mean it seems strange to someone else, so if you are quick to judge people try to remember that you yourself also probably does things that seem strange to others but not to you. This podcast also taught me that people change a lot as they grow up and some people try to forget a lot of their silly childhood stuff but but others embrace it and find it amusing.

I chose to watch "Elements of Drama by Mrs. Alicea" I chose to watch this video because it sounded a little more interesting then some of the other options listed. I liked the topic a little. However, I did not like at all the layout of the video it was very difficult to read everything and retain the information given in the short time they gave us. I think it would have been better if they wrote it out as well as voiced over what they writing. Although the cartoons displayed in the video were helpful and engaging at times. As well the music was a little distracting while trying to read each slide.

I didn't like the video because I feel like there was no main idea, and the video was kind of all over the place and hard to follow. I understood the main idea of how fiction can connect to real history but I feel like the video just went from topic to topic and in my opinion it didn't directly explain very well how fiction can change reality. The video was very difficult to follow in my opinion and jumped from topic to topic in a way that made it hard to learn from it.

I read the fiction story "Loin deserves care" which was an odd story that painted the picture of two different groups, (humans and aliens in the case of the story) and how their relationships are faltered, showing the problems with humanity's exclusiveness and lack of peace. This was a good depiction of this as the humans in the story believed they should be in control and the aliens were the minority within the story.

I watched "What Makes A Poem... A Poem." I had learned of the many elements that could make even the smallest bit of writing into a poem. These things are as simple as rhythm, rhyming, meter(meter meaning rhythm), condensed language, and intense feelings. Poems can be anywhere, and I hadn't realized that until I had watched this video. It explained that even from the most serious writing, to the most jolly piece of literature, they could both be poetry. Even from something as long as an essay, or something as short as Ali's poem("Me We" Quoted from Ali), could also be a poem. Poems are everywhere, in songs, in literature, and in anything you could possibly think of. Poetry is everywhere.

I read the fiction story "Dear Hogwarts." The main idea that I picked up from this story is that not everything has to be complicated and complex. The main character was already confidently planning what academic and athletic activities they were going to participate in. It's as if the eager students didn't care what it took to get into Hogwarts; they would keep trying until the end. What we take away here is that things in life can be simple and fun and you just need to get past that first barrier to unlock that kinda stuff.

I chose the side dish of watching the TED Talk about how works of fiction can become a reality. In the informational video, the narrator explained that just because it's in a fiction book doesn't mean it's impossible. One day, a long time ago, someone said that somehow getting humans to the moon would be impossible, and so they wrote it into a fiction book. Albert Einstein was one of the smartest people to ever live and he created several ways of bringing fiction into reality. I enjoyed this TED Talk because it gave me and probably other people an inspiration that you can do things that seem impossible.

I read the fiction story "It just happened" and I think the main idea was to never to take things for granted. Emma did have the odds (85/15) but she ended up dying in the end. She suffered from cancer and told the boy she had it, told her the chances and decided not to worry much. In the end she ended up dying which was the most unlikely outcome. I chose the the side meal of watching the Ted Talk about how the works of fiction can become a reality. In the Ted talk it talks about how a fiction book isn't impossible. Some old "fiction" books did become a reality. For an example they mentioned a book where the man went to the moon. What happened later on? Neil Armstrong goes to the moon! The content of the video was very simple and had a good way of explaining things through animation, but the text on the screen was a bit hard to read and keep up with, as the animations could get distracting. A voice over would've been helpful to understand the video better, but overall I think it was a good video and I would say I enjoyed it.

I watched the Ted Talk what makes a poem a poem. I learned that the rhythm of a poem matters all lot. If the rhythm isn't good then the poem may not be good. There is a lot of rhyming in poems and that a small bit of change can make a poem a lot different and can have different meanings to it. You can use poems to explain and show a lot of different things you just need to make sure that it makes sense so you can have a good poem.

I think that the main idea of this story is that even though things are always changing you can still find and take comfort in those things. in the story the girl was describing what she notices about each of the seasons and how it makes her happy. Even though the seasons are different she still found ways to take comfort in what was changing around her.

I chose to read “The Curse Of The Silver Record” and the main idea of this fictional story was that there was someone named Robert Sweet who was put to the task of investigating the death of Emily thompson throughout the investigation Robert found out that there was sulver record and whoever listened to the record would only have 24 days to live. Later on, he found out that Emily had one of these. He was able to find the record and as soon as he held it a bizarre series of images flooded his mind. One day Robert gets a shock when he brushes his arm and finds it covered with bear fur-like rough skin thinking that this might be a real curse so he tells his mom and she says they have to investigate together. They looked through archives of an old English city and asked the people there and followed him to an old theater in the outskirts of London. Eventually, after more investigating they cured the curse.

I chose to read "It Just Happened". Which is about a Girl named Emma and a guy named James in chem class. Emma was new to the school, and was lab partners with James. Soon, they become very fast friends. When a incedent happens in chem class, James takes the fall for Emma, and has to serve 1 month in detention. They become very close, and start to hang out at each others houses. James was always excited to go to chem class, because that means he got to see his favorite person, Emma. James finally got the courage to ask Emma out. Everything is going so well, until James finds out Emma has cancer. She has a 85% chance of survival rate. Soon her cancer takes a turn for the worse. What i learned from this was to not to take your time with someone forgranted.

I felt it made it exciting, and the music also made the video more entertaining.
