Congenital rubella syndrome (CRS) is a condition that occurs in a developing baby in the womb whose mother is infected with the rubella virus. Pregnant women who contract rubella are at risk for miscarriage or stillbirth, and their developing babies are at risk for severe birth defects with devastating, lifelong consequences. CRS can affect almost everything in the developing baby’s body. If the mother isn't vaccinated she has the risk of contracting the disease, even though Rubella was declared eliminated from the U.S in 2004.

caffeine is a crystalline compound that is found especially in tea and coffee plants and is a stimulant of the central nervous system. Caffeine can be very difficult to let go of because many people get addicted to the feeling of " energy " that caffeine gives them. While pregnant the mother does not have to completely remove it from their diet they just have to reduce how much they intake the limit is one 12 oz cup of coffee per day

this website below has information on a study that was conducted. in the study they found out that women who consume 200mg or more of caffeine daily are twice as likely to have a miscarriage as those who do not consume any caffeine.

The placenta grows in your uterus (womb) and supplies the baby with food and oxygen through the umbilical cord. Drinking any amount of alcohol at any time during pregnancy can harm your baby’s developing brain and other organs. No amount of alcohol has been proven safe at any time during pregnancy.
