Principal #1: Proximity

--The main takeaway for the principal of proximity is to place related elements on a page together.
--Group them together in close proximity or each other, and create space between the different groups. These groupings of elements contain information that are similar to the other elements within the group, and the different groups contain different information than the other groups.
--This is the rule of proximity: making a reader understand how elements and information on a page are related to each other my manipulating the space around the elements.

--Do not put anything randomly on a page!
--The reader should be able to visually see a connection between everything on the page.
--An important part of alignment is not to default to centre alignment. The more professional designs are not centred.
--Pick one alignment, called flush left, centred, or flush right, and remain consistent with that one alignment. Do not mix and match alignments.
--Create something to align elements with, wether it be a line down the side of the page, top, or bottom of the page, etc.

--Be sure to repeat at least one aspect of the design throughout the page
--The idea of repetition is "unity with variety", so repeat an aspect to create unity, but be creative with how you repeat it. Take an element that is going to be repeated, and make it slightly different or creative to make the repeated element more interesting.
